That is very interesting. I can sell to anyone who isnt obviously inelegable. No call required, in fact there is no one i can call to verify a buyer is eligible, and no one to "register" the sale. Yet i can't smash the living sh!t out of it without first calling the ATF who will stop by to watch me smash the living sh!t out of it AND they will register that event? Hilarious!

If i recall corectly it is actually against the law for the government to have a registration / confiscation list.

Truth stranger than fiction.

To get rid of a class 3 weapon you have to have a letter of disposal or you can get in big trouble.

**Not to mention if its an FA transferrable, its worth about $28K.

Ahhhhh... Thanks. That explains it.

Its a shame FAs are so expensive and such a pain to own. I would love to have an old FA Uzi or FA VZ58.

This statement right here tells me your not ready to own a fully automatic weapon. The upfront cost is nothing compared to what it will eat once you own it.

That's a silly thing to say.

Additional cost
He just touched on why I sold my Class 3 stuff.

People always wanna shoot them and rarely help with ammo costs. And FAs eat ammo. Not very practical, but fun for a while.

Full auto
I got a chance to shoot a full auto 9mm British WW2 gun Sten.

It went like this...

BRR BRRR BRRRR *click* ammo empty

Me <---I just went through $15 of ammo that quickly..is that it?

Paper target shows that I had well control recoil and 30 rounds impacted target. Heck, face was missing!

Lots of fun. I have rented an old UZI full auto a few times, just hang on tight and it stays on target. I ended up building a couple from demilled israeli parts kits for cheap, 500$ to 600$?. 9mm and 45acp versions. Built as semi auto of course.

I usually buy ammo by the 1000 case. As little as 14 cent a round for 9mm comercial reloads. Runs fine in the UZI and every other 9mm toy i have.

The 45 ACP can be a bit more expensive, so i sometimes reload my own. Unfortunately the 45 UZI dings the brass. A few folks have done some work on their extractors to cure the dinging problem. I got mine running well, but it still dinged a lot of the brass. The dings were bad enough to make the brass un reloadable.

I have a couple VZ58 Century parts kit guns. Really cool looking. If an AK47 and a Tommy-gun had a baby, it would be the VZ58. The trigers are a bit clunky like the UZIs, and i had to re-drill and re-pin the front sights to get them lined up, but i love em now. They run on the cheap russian 7.62 x39 ammo about 19 cent a round in 1000 round case. The real Czech built full auto versions are said to be great.

30 round Mags can be filled for around 4$ or 6$ for those two calibers.
