Signature included in PMs
I just received a PM from a member and his signature was included in the PM body. His signature was in the same script and font as the main body and for all I knew it was part of the message he was sending to me. It completely changed the message he was trying to convey to me because I was including it in the PM as I read it.
Should our signature lines just not be included at all in a PM?

You have the option of not displaying your signature when sending PMs. This is a new (first) concern 16 years in the making.

Should Edit Options offer this setting just for PMs?

Or maybe add a second signature field in your Edit Profile just for PMs?

In a regular post, the sig is grey and half the size of the regular text. In a PM I cannot tell the sig from the text. It is the same color and the same size.

Here is the message in question. Is he telling me he has an old JR mechanical gyro and is just a sentimental as I am, or is he trying to sell me a gyro followed by his sig? How can you tell?

Understood. It's been like this for 16 years. There is no way to dim a PM signature without adding even more confusing format tags.

How about making the default to not include the sig in the PM unless the sender checks the box to include it? What do you guys think?
