Then, Garces said, the guard, who was not armed, fled the church, along with some other congregants....
and when a few other people scrambled toward the gunman, Garces went for his weapon.

"As soon as I moved, he pulled the trigger," Garces said. "It hit the wall."

He said he was able to grab the handgun, then leave through a side door that led to the cafeteria. Holding the gun upside down — and clutching it with both hands — he said it was there that he encountered an officer with a rifle who told him to drop the weapon.

"I started bending down to put it on the ground," Garces said. "I didn't want to drop it. It would go off. That's when he shot me."
well the Officer fired as he was holding a weapon... duh... why was he running with the gun he took away? he should have kicked it away and beat the crap out of the assailant.
But a responding officer fired at Garces, striking him twice — once in the back and once above his collar bone, his lawyer, Jeff Blackburn, said in an interview.

"I don't know how that punctured a lung but it did," Blackburn said.
stupid lawyer... you get shot in the back and you dont know what caused a punctured lung?

The only one saying Garces was running with the gun is you.
It's disturbing how you make up your own "facts".

obviously you cant read...

running, leaving, walking away with... either way he LEFT holding the gun. besides I dont think he gracefully and slowly walked out the side entrance as if he was modeling a dress... do you?

oh wait... you think he walked calmly out with his hands up yelling "dont shoot" right?

Now lets be clear... the cop shot at him that is fact, but he was also holding the gun (big mistake on his part), but the cop had no idea he wasnt the bad guy, and probably had too much pressure on the trigger... let it play out and see what comes of it...

I don't see the word "running" that you keep trying to insert into the report.
If you were making that report, I'd have to charge you with "filing a false report".

The cops play happy with the trigger and you play happy with the words.
The court system would have a field day with you.

So which do you think he was doing, running or walking?
and if you saw an individual holding a gun "leaving" through a side entrance after hearing gunfire inside what would you do as an officer upon confronting that individual right in front of you?

This is why concealed weapon carriers have to be very careful. How do police know who the bad guy is? Now, how do the teachers know who the shooter is. During times of high stress, anything is possible.

Does not matter, when they tell you to drop the weapon, YOU had better do so.

There are two sides to the story. The guy lived. Sounds to me like the cop has some trouble of his own coming. If what I am reading is right, I will vote on the jury to put him away. Trigger happy? Yes

AirWolfRC It looks like the keystone cops are alive and well in Sanfrancisco,
so your on the criminals side, a guy who murdered 2 people the day before, and shot at officers first.

the fact you judge from the safety of the keyboard makes you quite the character
