After working with quite a few handicapped persons, I would suggest that a handicap is not always easily visible. Rather than confront the person directly, report it to law enforcement. A handicapped person cannot loan the placard to anyone. A non-handicapped person can park in the marked spot to go inside and pick-up the handicapped person. Many people have breathing difficulty that prevents them from walking. There are so many handicapped conditions that you should just leave it alone or report to law enforcement.

Let LEO investigate and determine the use. Big fines are assessed.

A big joke at Walter Reed is that all the parking spaces are handicapped. Some guys with prosthetic legs cannot be detected.

You are entitled to question, just let LEO do the work. A doctor has gone through a lot of paperwork to get the state to issue the parking pass to an individual.

Is it still allowed in the USA to refer to people with disabilities as handicapped ?
Or handicapped parking or , indeed, handicapped toilets/bathrooms .
Who in any case would want to use a handicapped parking or a handicapped toilet ....

I think about the hereafter. I go somewhere to get something, then wonder what I'm here after ?

Isn't the word Handicapped just a statement of fact if it applies. This whole political correct thing has gone way too far in my opinion.

By the way, several members of my family are or were indeed "Handicapped" and I certainly don't think anything less of them for being that way. And yes, I have used their window card at times when taking them to appointments, etc. In our state, the card is assigned to the person, not a vehicle. We have some stiff penalties for improper use of the card. At times when parking permitted, I dropped of the person at the door and parked in a normal spot leaving the Handicapped spot for someone more in need of it.

Thank you sir. I often did the same with my wife who couldn't walk more than 30 feet or so, and often it was at her request not to use the pemit.
