I'm helping a buddy setup an Ikon on a Trex-450. All seems well, setup completed with no errors and it flies fine. The Ikon is flashing the red led after initialization - doesn't seem to affect it but we don't know what the flashing code means. Searching the docs and reading discussion threads I haven't been able to find any source for interpreting these flashing codes. Does anyone have any pointers on what the LED status lights mean on an Ikon ? -- this is and original Ikon hooked up to Spektrum satellite RX's

Most likely is the red LED is blinking to indicate the current "Setup" (AKA: Bank).
The gyro has 3 "Setup" (1, 2 & 3) configurations that affect about a dozen different parameters for tail, cyclic, expo - on and on.
If you switch to Setup 2, the red LED will blink 2 times, pause 1 second, then blink 2 times
Similar for Setup 3 (except 3 times)

If your friend has not setup the transmitter for Setup switching (AKA: Bank switching), then the gyro will be in Setup 1 as the default.
The gyro will blink 1 time, pause 1 second, blink 1 time and repeat for as long as the gyro is tuned on.

Believe 1/2 of what you see and none of what you hear.

thank you! I'll see if he has it setup for all three banks and if it switches LED flashing to match. Why don't they mention this in the manual! (or did they and I missed it!)

Ticedoff8 is correct. The red light indicates the bank that is active by blinking 1,2 or 3 times to indicate bank 1,2 or 3. If you have the logging feature active the red light will be on and blink off to indicate logging is active or it will be off and blink on to indicate logging is turned off also.

Now I see, from the manual:
Panel 13 - Final Checks and Tuning Tips:
After powering up the unit, the red and green led’s will alternately flash during boot up. Leave
the helicopter still until the green led is solid. The red led will flash one, two or three times,
indicating the setup parameters selected.
thanks guys!

That description is found under the diagnostics tab and clicking on the Parameters settings tab a little less than halfway down on the left.
