Check menus to look for buddy box settings. Enable the instructor or master/slave settings. You can usually select what channels of the master you want to allow control.

I would say that the situation is far worse than your original description. I would e-mail/phone the company and find out what they recommend to do. You might have to send the radio back in. Sorry

Send the radio back in cause he can't get it to work with a simulator ? Seems kind of extreme, IMHO.....

Been there, done that and old enough to know better.....

I said call/e-mail to find out their recommendations. If you cannot reach any of the settings, it is more problematical than can not use with Phoenix. I used to own one of these radios. Sounds like you bulloxed the upgrade. If that is the case you may have to send it in, but that is their call, not mine.

This is the same advice provided previously, based on comment the he could not get to settings.

I’m reading that as he can't get to the settings ON THE SIMULATOR, not the radio itself....... maybe he can clarify ?

I read that to mean he cannot calibrate because no signal is available from the radio.

First thing he says is “since upgrading”... I don’t believe the radio is transmitting the code to the port. With newer radios, you have to turn the trainer port on in the radio and select what channels are to be used.

how are you setting Tx (slave or master) and connecting radio to sim?

Id say check position of master/slave channel "rollers" (as they call it)

These are the switches that determines which radio is in control of the main 4 channels (T,R,A,E) in trainer menu.

I'm thinking that he felt that could have been a possibility (probably could be in some cases).....

Bottom line is that we're all trying to help resolve the issue and we sometime interpret the problem at hand in different ways.....

Read my very first response. I had it right. I have owned that radio in the recent past. I thought that I could help. Usually when something goes wrong, the last thing you did is the obvious suspect.

Not a problem, I will not bother you further.
