Crap. They got down to 27 seconds on the countdown, and had a problem with a valve, went to hold countdown... appears to be scrubbed for today.

Great launch. I still think SpaceX provides better camera coverage.

We don't live far from Space X and we get to experience their engine tests on a regular basis...it ain't quite.

But at least we get the artillery at Ft Hood to break up the steady engine roar...it gets noisy here sometimes.

Crazy huge. It definitely will not go quietly!

Spacex has had a lot of fun with the payload on this. A Teslla with an extra big battery to run the radio for years as it heads out for, well, I don't know where it is headed, but it definitely will set quite a few automotive records!

dont remind me... on cold steady days... that crap shakes my house... and they always seem to start just after bedtime.

it often reminds me of a typical 'quiet' night in Iraq...

Any confirmation on the center core? The simultaneous side booster landing was fantastic! And then the footage of the Roadster with Starman. Love the Dash Info Center with the verbiage, "Don't Panic".

What a great first test launch!

Glad you got to see that.

Watch at YouTube

live Starman cam. Some of the views show earth. Stunning. Right out of a stoners rock and roll fantasy animation, except not animation nor fantasy.

If it were me, I would have rigged Starman's arm on the windowsil to extend and wave, or do the hand in the wind thing. Hehehehe.

Billy, because you won't eat your carrots I have decided to leave Mommy and you.... Buh bye.

So let me get this straight, Elon spent millions to launch a car into space... the same dick that thinks a college education is worthless (but you cant even get an interview at Space X without a degree in aeronautical engineering) and thinks our time and money should be used to better the less fortunate. So how exactly does launching a car into space accomplish that?

They have to prove it out by putting something else into space with this new rocket before Dr Evil will pay to have them launch his "Laser". Might as well have a little fun.

As for the college stuff. I did the mechanical engineering with electives in systems eng. I did OK but my boss was just a lowly project manager who stepped up and started the company. He made most of the money, and had most of the fun. My job kinda sucks really. He did not need to be an RF engineer, or any of the rest, he only had to find them.
