Yeah, that nitro!
I have been putting my electric aside lately and went through over 14 gallons of CP30%. My flying has improved lot. Electric has their limits unless you want to go 12s/14s. No thanks!

Nitro is the way to go for me!

Haven't touched my 600N in a few years. Just got her out and I'm excited to get her flying again. Miss the nitro smell!

With so many people stretching the Gaui NX4 to 500-550mm blades we NEED a dedicated 500-550 nitro! Even the old OS 50 Hyper would be a blast in a 550 and much cheaper than a 55.

Been flying nitro w/ planes for close to 50 years and nitro heli's for almost 40 years.

Switched over to electric heli's 6 years ago and it just never filled that spot that a nitro does. That combustion engine sound, super cool smell, smoke trail in the air, longer flight times plus you have to have much better collective management which is an art form in itself.

Thanks for stirring the pot Frank. I like people that do that.

My electric would be good for scale though so much more run time, the down fall is there are no fuselages that fit the 550L.

Check the scale forum in the other heli site and you will find some who have fit the 500L to some of the 600 size FunKey fuselages.

I know what you mean but then there wouldn't have been all the 450's that so many people started this hobby with. Electric definitely killed nitro but I think nitro is making a come back.

That tells me you’re using something with a synthetic/castor mix. Burnt castor oil smells like burning beans.

When I used to mix my own zero nitro with full synthetic klotz it had a very odd smell—bitter and foul—not like the wildcat 30% I’m used to. I think the wildcat has some arromatics added to it. That smells kinda fruity to me.

if it ain't broke, break it.

Rule number 1. If it gets on you, wash it off. Contains a neurotoxins and after years and years of exposure can start to mess with your functionality
so when i was younger using it to spit fire balls was not a good idea i guess......

only you have the power to make no difference!

I think he meant to say it was toxic. Like any other fuel it's has some hazards but neurotoxins .

The only side effects that I know of are : stupid grin on face. Butt clenching. May cause euphoria if flying to closely.
May cause daydreaming and or inability to focus on current tasks.

spending time, paying attention
