After my first Dalton last year I had to add to my collection. OK let me start by saying this is more difficult than I thought it was going to be. I do not want to bash roban here but there manual is horrible. There have been changes to this version and they do not show in manual along with a long list of items and details not in it either. Thankfully I have some great people to teach me along the way. Butch wellmaker and Rich curry will have their hands full. I also see Ron has rebuilt 1, so may need some input from him. so I decided to make a build post with some pics. If you see something I'm doing wrong please let me have it. LOL thanks for reading and I hope to have ready for Dalton this year.

I hope you haven’t put it together yet. There needs to be some strengthening done but well worth it in the long run.

I didn't crash. I just ran out of airspeed, altitude, and ideas all at the same time!

Cool build! I'm sure you'll find all the help you need in here. I would definitely have a chat with Ron (Cobieg) about reinforcing the area of the floor behind the mechs wood work. He just rebuilt on of these for Dave, after a less than perfect landing...
I'm also a big fan of reinforcing all of the wood joints with a fillet of aeropoxy, especially where the wood joins the fuse. To avoid interference be careful how much epoxy you use in the areas where the mechs mount to the wood kit. Do a dry fit of the mechs to see how much clearance you have for epoxy fillets. Good luck with your build!

All helis and planes have an expiration date stamped on them...you only find it after you crash!!

Hey Barry, I had a long chat with him. I think that I gave him a little brain overload but, it will be easier to do on an uncrashed model. Not bashing Roban but like almost anything these days improvements need to be made to make it right.
The main things are the landing gear mounting (front & rear) and the windshield pillar post strengthening. I believe he has some good help up there if he needs it (more skilled modelers than me)
