The short motor belt snapped on my 500 today , it’s prob done 300 flights , not sure if it needed aligning .
Problem is that I can’t not find the sport model belt any where .
It’s def same width and tooth pitch but not sure how many teeth it has and if the belt will fit on the sport model , the sport has 204 teeth .
The older 500 belt are easily available local

The regular 500 and the Sport belts have different part numbers.
The regular 500 belt is a Gates GT3 belt. Size is 195 3MGT (pitch length & pitch). Compare to your Sport belt numbers. I do not have a Sport.
BTW, funny aside, the belt is made in your country.

I just looked and the 195 pitch length belt has 65 teeth. I am guessing that you meant a 204 pitch length and not 204 teeth. Your Sport belt is longer than the regular 500.

Yes sorry I just counted the teeth and I think it’s 68tooth
The 204 must be the length

I’m wondering if I would get away with smaller belt ? As had to move motor forward abit with standard gearing , wondering if they give a bigger belt and more motor adjustment to allow the use of def size ratios

Yes, the pitch length. That is how that belt is measured lengthwise.

I just had a reply from Trex U.K. and seems this sport belt has not yet been listed over here in UK and there going to contact distributors after holidays .
I may order the older 500 version to try

So is belt 5 mm shorter ? I’m I correct then as it has two sides the belt then it only needs to move back 2.5mm ?

I decided as was a long wait for the belt to buy the shorter older version non sport 500 belt and it fitted straight on easily and perfect .
The tension is now in the middle of the sliders and not all the way on edge .
I do not understand why they fitted a bigger belt to the sport ??
Has this original older version belt is perfect .
Only thing I can is they have allowed if you want to use a bigger motor pulley but if you wanted to go smaller then you would be too far out on adjustment where as like said the smaller older belt is now approx in center of adjustment .

Did one flight earlier in strong winds .
So far perfect .
At a guess would imagine a shorter belt be better as if starts to slacken there be less whip .
Any way all sorted :-)
