Tailkiller is doing my mechanics for me, but detailing the fuselage is all mine. Here is the weapons system on a real one and my rendition of it.

That looks great. Did you 3D print the weapon system?

Thanks, I was please with the way it turned out. I bought the 1/6 scale, .50 cal and it came with the ammo belt. Then I found the flex chute and ammo box here.

Roy, I was pleased with it myself. Turns out I could have gotten the ammo box a size larger, but wasn't sure.

Here is the site. If you look at the box below each item, you can pick the scale you want. Size it up or down.

https://www.iflytailies.com/store/guns-ordnance/

The .50 cal is 1/6th scale and 11" long.

The flex chute is call an ammo channel.

Now that the fuselage is back it is time to start detailing. There has been a change in plan, from when I started this project. I have decided to do an OH-58C, which had the two blade rotor head and was rated to be armed with a 50 cal, or two TOW missiles. I am going to use "sand" as the camouflage, as it will be easier to see then OD and was correct for the Gulf War period. With the change in color I had to modify my 50 cal build, so I made it more like the picture above. I also disguised the GPS puck as an ALQ-144, inferred, missile, protection system, which was first fielded during the Gulf War. So far, so good. Waiting on my rivet strips to arrive.

That's AWESOME!! I love it when "everyday household" stuff find new homes as a scale items on an RC helicopter!

Rivet lines laid out and ready for glue dots. There are 2,280 rivets on this puppy. Nothing close to Steve and Air Wolf, but a lot all the same. I ordered the rivet strips he uses, but the 2mm rivet with 2mm spacing that I needed, did not work like the strips did for him. So, I used the strips to lay out the lines, then marked each rivet with a pencil. Now I know the lines are straight and the spacing is correct. It worked out nicely.

I figure Steve will use real rivets on his new Cobra.
