I didn't know something so small could hurt so bad. (wish she had said that). On my way home from work Friday my lower molar started a dull, throbbing pain. By Friday night, I was about to kill something.

Figured out warm water and salt is your friend. Amazing the affects it has.

Went to dentist today. Cracked filling and infected roots. Yummy. Too infected to extract today....will do it Monday after Antibiotics have taken affect. On Tylenol III right now...ok, just knocks the edge off.

Sorry whoever else has gone thru this. 54 years old and my first. Sure it won't be my last. YeaHaw!!!

Had an impacted wisdom tooth once. Infection counteracts the Novocaine so it never does completely go numb. I had to get it pulled anyway as I had to leave out of town for work the next day. Turns out the roots were hooked as well so they had to split it and pull each half out sideways. Thought I was going to pass out.... Then after I get out to work I got dry socket. OMFG! Complete misery for a week until I got home. Got in an he packed some clove tasting stuff in there and it was gone instantly... If only I'd known it was that easy. I feel your pain amigo'...

Thanks for the input Paul. I will certainly try to stay away from the dry socket thing. This is bad enough. Been reading about the clover treatment. Amazing.

Had my molar extracted today. Funny how they say 'extraction'. I say twist and pull the f####r out. Wasn't bad, needles weren't even that bad. Now to keep from getting dry socket. Can't eat, can't smoke for 3 days, wtf? Hopefully my family will survive this....

Surprizingly....
Listerine Blue goes along ways to holding a lot of my tooth and mouth pain at bay. Works against infection (and the pain there of) almost immediately.

My 2 cents of course but I can't argue with what works for me.

I'm good for now. Have been using warm salt water rinces and blue Listerine as well. Just real gentle like. Freak'n starving, miss my coffee, and hell, might as well give up smoking now. Been two days...but wearing a patch, so that helps a lot. So far so good. Should know in the next day or so if I get dry socket or not.

The patch...
Was how I quit chewing tobacco(can and a half a day of Skoal fine cut). September of 09, never looked back, and I have lots more money for heli stuff now as well.

Tom.

I understand Tom. When I quit chewing, I never looked back at it either. However, in the field, you could always chew, but not always smoke.

Smoking to me is more of a stress reliever then anything else. Sounds stupid, but it is indeed that to me.

So far so good. Will it continue? Don't know, but I am leaning that way right now. Time will tell.

My only concern is not getting dry socket right now.

One day at a time.

Clove. Not clover. Clove oil. Watch Dustin Hoffman in "Marathon Man."

bad teeth are the worst pain one can ever have........get it over with jerkem all out! why make dentist rich with ongoing bills!! get some plates and be down the road

But if you insist on continuing pain clove oil works good but nasty taste. also thiers some stuff called ORAGEL that works good for around an hr. or 2.

and get rid of those stinkin smokes!!

CAUTION!!! politicians may be hazerdous to your well being
