Looks good and workable Emile. I thought of that with my Astar cause the open door was rubbing the finished paint. But I wasn't sure that when the door was closed, that it would be flush to the fuse, so I opted out.

I thought about that too Dennis so i will put a piece of clear plastic over the spot where the magnets contact the door. Its invisible and protects the finish. Doing the same in the astar since the way it comes doesnt allow the door to open all the way.

Thanks. Paint is rustoleum and I have a two part automotive clear that will go on after I put the markings on.
I have always liked the phi scheme, this will be the 3rd fuselage I have painted this scheme and the colors show up well for an old man like me

Thanks guys.
Time to make a rotor cap using my high technology rotorcap machine. Last time I was at Roy's (Heli143) place, he gave me some carbon fiber cloth to play around with so I decided to try it out instead of the usual fiber glass cloth. a few layers mixed up with some fiberglass resin and viola!
the finish is so pretty to look at its a shame I have to paint it. when I make the one I need for my MD500D, I think I will leave it since that's gotta be black in color anyway
