No real issues, I buy stuff from Canada fairly frequently.

The 2 things to keep in mind are:

1) The current currency exchange rate between Canadian dollar and US dollar. (As of this moment, 1 Canadian dollar equals 0.78 US dollars, which is good news for the US buyer)

2) Be prepared to wait a little while (up to 2 weeks sometimes) for your package to arrive. It will have to clear customs when it arrives in the US.

I have wondered this same thing myself. Is the payment best made buy PayPal? Can you even use PayPal? I have wanted to do this in the past but thought it would be opening a can of worms.
Thanks for the post. Maybe I will learn something.

little while = a long while.....lol

You can place an order with a company in the UK and get it on your doorstep faster than when ordered from Canada.

This has indeed been the case in some instances. It's been a little while since I've ordered something from Canada, but I know it's sometimes taken longer to receive stuff from there vs. other countries. I'm not sure if it's Canada Post or US Customs (or both) that contribute to the delay. Probably both.

PayPal is fine here in Canada we have been using it for a while.

Because of U.S. laws it takes longer at your customs to clear.

* probably because of all that cannabis we ship .

Perhaps....but then why would items that I purchase from UK hobby distributors arrive much more quickly than those from Canada?

Without exception.

I don't know what's wrong with your customs either. Same when I order from the US it takes longer at customs. But every other country goes through quicker.
Maybe there is too much illegal activity at the border ??

It just might be....

Haven't done any business south of the border.

That probably would take forever.....

I have ordered from UK and Japan
Both packages from different countries were in my hands in less than 7 business days.

Paypal was used to pay and automatically converts to country of origin's currency. *Small Fee of course!*

Canada should be no issues!

Now here is the Kicker on the flip side

When Canadian buy from US.. had a guy buy a $30 item.
- sent via USPS
- marked as $30
- The post office charged the buyer $13.99

Just something I wanted to share

That's why we order from elsewhere , duties/taxes on a used item is often charged
And if it is shipped by courier expect to pay broker fees as well.
I can't afford to buy used when new cost less or the same from elsewhere.

An item that cost 100$ U.S. will cost me an extra 27$ cad atm plus shipping about another 30$ plus duties 7% plus broker fees 25$ if sent by courier.

If I was in the U.S. I might consider buying from Canada because of the exchange rate.
