I've been using JR equipment since the early '90s.

And I'd say go for it.....I did....

I was JR only from my first Circus / JR heli radio in '86. I bought the VControl when it first came out since all my FBL units were VBars. The menus took a little while to become familiar with and it sort of forces you to go with the switch to turn the motor on concept......I had set my electrics up like my nitros before this radio, with bank 1 (ie: Normal) set up to start the rotors and get up to flight speed with the throttle stick.
My previous 3 radios were a PCM10, 10x, and 12x. I didn't notice any lack of quality in the gimbals moving to VControl. The only difference was less weight.
Since getting the VControl, I have never looked back. Every time I help someone set up their heli that isn't on VControl, I'm reminded how much easier setup is with the VBC system.

Just go for it!

Me, too....small world, eh?

I still have my old PCM10 and 10X....gathering dust somewhere in a closet...even had the small 72MHz whip antennas....

One piece of info that I've seen people talk about...

Some people like a heavier TX.....and some prefer a lighter one.

The VC "gun metal gray" TX is of the heavier type(alum. case)....whereas the colorful plastic case TXs are of the lighter types.

There is two ways to go here, locked into a specific system to get full benefit of the integration, or a more open type. Examples are the V Control and Jeti. I preferred to have more choices in my radio equipment so I went Jeti.

Do your research and decide what system will best fit your needs now and into the future, you will be much happier with whatever choice you make on a new transmitter system. This is a big decision that can come with a significant cost.

I was a JR lifer too and went Vcontrol the only thing that took me time to adjust to was the feel of the radio. I put my fingers between and in front of the top switches. The top of the radio is not as wide and more curved (not as square) so my fingers feel like they want to fall off. I suggest you hold one first before buying. I would like to see Mikado re-shape the top. Other than that it is a good radio. - Kris

If you want a little more heavy feeling on the std radios add the second battery— added bonus twice the run time- did mine love it!

You can if you purchase the Vbasic Rx.
Works like a regular Rx but can later be upgraded to a full FBL controller with pro and rescue if you like. ( you can use any NEO like this but not logical to turn off the gyro on a full version NEO just to use a different FBL gyro )

But you'd have a mess of wires so you might as well use a Vbar FBL.

You can use any older Vbar with the Vbar SAT.
