Tail servo
Since I replaced the ESC and motor in my 450 when I reduce throttle the tail kicks left about 3 inches. It's not holding as good on throttle up as well. The motor has high magnetic strength an could be causing this as it started since I put both ESC and motor on. It's an align 3400 kV motor and a hobbywing 60 amp Skywalker ESC. I read that I should be at 70 percent throttle at hover? That's about where I am now should I go more? And do high speed servos wear out slowly? Can anyone suggest a good high speed digital servo? My heli is a lot better than stock now with all the upgraded parts. It would merit a good high speed digital servo at this point. So I guess I have a question and a suggestion.

Tail servo
I bought a walkera 450 for my first 450 it has 3d and 6g it's a all in one RX fbl unit and for the most part it works ok. The frame tail servo and RX are the only stock parts left not upgraded.

No, your servo isn't slowly degrading. It is not magnetism either. Sounds to me as if you need to adjust pitch compensation in your flybarless controller.

The servo, last we heard was a full-size Savox SC1258.

The FBL controller is a Walkera RX/3 axis controller all-in-one module.

Tail servo
Yes dkshema that's true. I had the cyclic servos installed at the time hitec and was waiting on the tail from bangood the said out of stock soon after so I just kept doing other upgrades. I don't know anything about beastx kbar ect. Ect. But I'm sure I can handle adjustment on what I have that's it in your picture. A bit of guidance will be appreciated.

Also consider...

You mentioned you replaced your motor.....

So, you need to check for proper motor pinion/main gear mesh.

And to check for proper tail belt tension.

Always check the mechanics before moving on to the electronics.

Tail servo
I put a vary small amount of lash between pinion and main gear. My belt tension is set so that I have some movement when I push on it. My rotor head spins freely now. My tail has given me some problems before but RR people have always helped me correct it. It will not stay locked since I put a new motor and ESC. It behaves odd to me I never had it wag with throttle input before.

I realize it's very subjective as to "how much is correct".

For motor pinion mesh, find the "high" and "low" points on the main gear by turning the rotor head.

At the "high" point, there will be no "lash"(slop).....at the low point, there will be a little.

Adjust to the "high" point....with no lash.

For the belt, when you "push", don't let the two belt sides touch.

Have you adjusted the tail rod for no drift in Normal mode to make sure the tail is mechanically the best it can be before looking for other problems?

Tail servo
I have the tail servo set at 90 degrees and it has full throw each way. I checked tail assembly for any binding and there is only a vary small amount of slop in the push pull arm. It seems like the gyro is not right or the servo can't keep up. Again this started when I put a new ESC and motor in. One guy said he doesn't have much faith in walkera electronics. I'm at the point were I don't!

Any slop is bad....lol

Is there anything you can do to eliminate it?

Usually the tail isn't centered when is correctly setup. It may not fix the problem, but it could help. It's something to try. Turn off heading hold and go into hover. See which way tail drifts and adjust tail rod until it stops drifting or the smallest drift you can. Put back in heading hold and see how it flys. It helps the gyro not work so hard. How's the head speed with the motor change? I seen tail kicks because the added torque of a bigger motor.

Sounds like you simply have your throttle curve too steep around hover. If I'm correct in reading all your other topics you now have an 11t pinion and 121t main gear and the new motor is 3400kv? I'm assuming the esc is NOT in governor mode and you have already tried increasing the tail gain?

IF you are on throttle curves and not the governor and it has a nice slow spool up soft start AND you have gone as high as you can go on the tail gain, you want your normal throttle curve to look something like this:

0-60-70-73-75 or even 0-75-75-75-75

Idle up if you are using it wants to be something like this:

85-82-80-82-85 or 85 across the board. You can increase this all the way to 100 across the board if you think you need more 'pop'.
60% of the time, it works every time!

Tail servo
As always I like to thank people who posted and helped me. Because most feedback was to check the mechanism first I found my tail grips were way to sloppy. The grips and Bering holder are metal but the arms are plastic and that's where the play was at. Good thing is I took the time to go through the whole bird and lock tight every nut and bolt I thought needed it. I got a nice improvement from it needless to say free moving but tight is best. Set it to soft start as well thanks again. I will do more on preflight checks!
