Isn't there supposed to be a slight bit of forward tilt in the main shaft?? So there are plastic shims in this kit and the manual says
use 1-3 shims in the front and 1 shim in the rear. Make sure main shaft is perpendicular
Perpendicular to what?

Yeah the fullsize machine has a forward tilt in the mast so yes for a model you want to shim the mechs forward to achieve this. clearly the kit's instruction isn't trying to achieve the tilt so the shims recomended are to keep the shaft perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the fuselage which is cool, it will hover level but not like the full size 222 which hovers with a slightly nose high attitude. if your kit utilizes a tailboom that runs down the inside of the fuselage's boom, then you will be limited if at all to how much forward tilt you can put in. ( btw which kit is it? u never said)

drive a rotary, fly a rotorcraft

Here's a 3 view drawing and photo to give you an idea of how much forward tilt it should have. The drawing shows 5 degrees of tilt.

Yeah sorry, its a Roban 800 size, kind of explains the wonderful manual Just dry fitting it looks like about 2 degrees of tilt with 2 shims in the front and 1 in the back. With 1 shim front and back its about perfect. Thanks
