CC ICE HV120 Hobbywing RPM Sensor issue on VBar Neo
I'm unable to calibrate the throttle on the CC ICE HV120 in Governor Mode - Set RPM. I need to use the CC governor mode since the ESC has no governor gain output wire otherwise I would use the Neo governor function.

I'm using a Spektrum DX20 and the esc will not calibrate using the normal servo travel adjustment. It will calibrate using a Mini VBar.

Any Ideas?

In lieu of the white wire output from the Edge series, you can get an inexpensive Hobbywing digital sensor, and solder the leads to two of the motor wires. Then plug the servo connector into the RPM port and use your Vbar governor.Logo 700, Specter 700, Goblin 700, Trex 700DFC, Gaui X7, Logo 690SX, Logo 600SX; Trex 470 Trex 500

Well I have installed the sensor but I don't have any rpm selection with the bank switch on the Neo. It seems to not be getting any signal from the sensor. I have the CC esc set on external governor mode - fixed end points.

Any ideas on what I have wrong?

Are you sure it is a Hobbywing and not a Hyperion? HW sensors have two wires that must be soldered to two of the ESC/motor leads. The Hyperion only has one, and will not work with Vbar/Castle setups.

If you are using the HW make sure that in the governor setup tab 1 that you select electric governor and then reset. On tab 2, set your gear configuration and sensor configuration (half of your motor magnet count).

Here is where I am absolutely not positive about this setup. I think you need to set both your sliders close to the inside ends. Click on the "on" button to tie your throttle channel to the collective stick. Now, with the throttle stick up, plug in your main flight pack, (of course move the pinion away from the main gear or remove the blades first).

Slowly move the max throttle towards 100, just until you hear a set of arming tones. Now, bring the throttle stick to low and move the motor off slider towards -100 until you hear the final set of arming tones.

You set your requested RPM in the governor box for the bank you want, one per bank.

Good luck.

Rcflyerheli, Thanks for your reply, unfortunately I already completed all of those steps and it is a Hobbywing sensor. I will need to play with it more tomorrow.

The only other thing I can think of to double check is to make sure you have the HW output plugged into the horizontal RPM port on the Neo and that it has the correct polarity.Logo 700, Specter 700, Goblin 700, Trex 700DFC, Gaui X7, Logo 690SX, Logo 600SX; Trex 470 Trex 500
