I placed a WTB thread but I need more exposure. I looking for a Choas 600 air frame. Why? Motor needs to be in the frame not up top, and the Choas frame is wider to help fit the larger motor. Thanks.

Hi Dennis,

Maybe a Raptor 50 and convert it to electric? The clutch could be retained and the motor would be right where the nitro motor was. Just an idea, I have 2 of these in scale fuses and it works great. In fact, Emile has 1 he's working on now that he's performed some serious surgery on for a Hughes 500 project.

Thanks guys. Emile and I have already talked about the nitro route but is more work then I'm want to tackle right now. Maybe as a down time project.

I thought there was an E version that had the motor in frame but everything in saw was like the Pro with motor on top and that long high nose which will work. To get the tail height right the front of the mechs will hit the fuse canopy. But if anyone knows of one please let me know.

Now the 600ESP on helicopter fun is awesome to see.. I thought they were gone with the Dodo Bird.... I will be checking that out. Briefly looked at it to make sure it wasn't and old sale but it is currently available.
But my issue with the motor size in the smaller frame is still there. A 600 Chaos would solve the issues.

KDE used to sell a spacer kit that allowed you to use their upgraded bearing blocks etc on the wider Chaos frames. I've used them before on the align frame to get the wider spacing so I could fit a wider motor. Not sure if KDE still sells them but it wouldn't be hard to pick up some spacers/washers to do the same thing.

You can cut the stock 600 ESP frames a bit to accommodate the larger diameter motor. I have done this on 2 of my helicopters with no discernible negative effects. You only have to widen the openings on each side a few millimeters to allow the motor can to spin without touching the frames. It's a couple minutes work with a Dremel.

Thanks .. I'm going to re check KDE but most of the 600 upgrades are not available anymore. I'll check Phoenix Tech I had to cut the frame in my 600esp that's on my current JR just to get a 4025-890kv in it.. but now i'm using a 4525-520kv.. I will add stiffeners around the motor area were I can. Depending on what i get I may have to add the third lower bearing, 2 will not be enoung slinging 700 blades. That how I wrecked the 700 JR I had using a 600esp. Thanks guys.Dennis
