Is it possible to convert these Roban mechanics to rotate c clockwise? Anybody ever done it?

yes!
I have done it to a set. you have to press the one way bearing out of the metal pulley, flip the bearing over and re install it. if you want to maintain the swash plate moving upwards for positive pitch, you will need to flip the blade grips so the pitch arms are facing the direction of rotation. also keep in mind that the original blades are made for the intended direction of rotation so you will have to use blades made for the opposite direction. After all that its just a matter of reversing your motor's direction.

Awesome thanks! I didn't think about the blades being flat bottom A-symmetrical. I was thinking of changing them anyway, Thanks,

My Roban HSM-800 mechanics came from the factory set up for counter-clockwise rotation. I just assumed all of them did. Which model do you have, tgalo? (I am just curious)

i believe they all come with ccw rotation except for the ones in the astar. see, the fullsize astar turns clockwise so roban went with the realism for that. the blades for the astar are also designed to suit that.drive a rotary, fly a rotorcraft

I may have jumped the gun here, truth is I picked up a new open box 800 size Bell 222 for a good price but don't have it yet. Im looking at pictures and see the tail rotor on the left side of the aircraft so now Im confused.... Ill have to wait till I get it I guess. I did have a AS350, 700 size and that had clockwise rotation

the tr location on the left is accurate as per the full size 222.

This is crazy interesting.. Went to RCA and looked at the 800 222 and the variants in the photos.. wel, lol
Facing the tail, the rotor is on the right as a CW rotation and the head is leading edge control for CW rotation but the tail blades are backwards spinning down from the mains instead of up into the mains.
I also see the tail rotor on the left but the head is still CW unless it's running trailing edge control.
Just an observation..

I didn't want to seem all nerd like but I noticed that too. On Synergy's N7, the tail rotor rotates backwards like this Roban model and doesn't seem to have any effect on how the bird fly's. It appears they just flipped the tail over to get the scale look right but no worries on rotation. As long as it fly's the same I guess... At least I don't have to worry about changing to head to ccw..

Can confirm. I have 2 helicopters with tail rotors mounted on the left (scale) side with rotation going down from the mains (i.e. CCW when facing the tail rotor) and I have noticed no difference in tail rotor effectiveness.

that is exactly correct!

also correct.
the fullsize MD500 has the tr spinning down into the main rotorwash as opposed to the preferable up into it but flies just fine. theres a variant or two oof the huey that I have seen this way as well.
on our rc models, you will notice almost no difference
