I was helping a buddy set up a Neo/Vcontrol with a Tribunus 120 ESC, and ran across something just to let everyone know.

I found if the transmitter was right next to the heli, when I plugged in the Tribunus, I would initially get all the correct startup initialization tones and messages, followed immediately by a disconnect message. I moved the transmitter slightly farther away from the heli, and everything worked properly.

Hope this helps someone.

I take it to mean that the TX/RX interface senses near field signals, so maybe it is a built in protection feature to insure your antenna signal is proper during startup.

I haven't had a chance to test this on my setups yet, but will see if it does the same as my buddy's.

I don't think it matters what the power source is. It is mentioned on vstabi that having noted this they made a change in one of the updates that should take care of the problem.

As you know the tx already does a near field reduced power and that can be seen as a letter N displayed on the screen when in effect. Maybe they tweaked that a little.

I hadn't noticed that....how can that be seen?

I had noticed the reduced power notice on the VC TX when using the VC SIM hardware.

Yes.. I have noticed the N. It sometimes appears as I plugin, then when walking to the frontline and leaving the Heli. It then disappearing.

If you have the default screen just power up a model close to the tx and you should see a "N" about top middle of screen.
