Just tuning the tail on a new build E5

I was just looking to confirm that I'm supposed to use shrinking tubing on the tail control rod where is passes through the guides

IAFF 2130 It was on FIRE when I got there

Some kits used to supply a brass sleeve you glued on the shaft where it passed through the supports I think the heat shrink would serve the same purpose. I haven't bothered to use anything for a long time and haven't had any problems. Ive never assembled a E5 but flip a coin use it or not I don't think you will have a problem.

What do the instructions show ? Seems that if the fit is nice , it would act as a bearing surface .....

Short answer , don't have a clue......

Been there, done that and old enough to know better.....

It's a common practice. Align uses a metal sleeve. Prevents the carbon from wearing away.

Synergy supplies a clear teflon shrink tune in there kits. You should use this as regular shrink tubing grabs the edges of the guide hole when passing through.

Synergy sells extra trflon shrink tubing if you need more.
