knightofcarnage I think he was talking about the front gear box. Which I don't I have seen being made out metal since trex 450 SEv2. I remember it was an issue with the tail booms sliding out very easily and you needed to pad it with 2 side tape.
Well, that makes a lot more sense. My mistake. I was about to confuse myself - something that happens too often.

We only usually hear of issues, aswell as 'joeplumber1' above there will be thousands of other people with no issues.

The manufacturer with the most sales will get the most reported issues, it's just a percentage thing.

Sure I get that fully, if it wasn't for a majority had an issue before it even hit the market.

My understanding is its really personal preference some say it slips some dont. I dont see the slippage or feel it, the clutch on mine comes down cool to the touch after 7 minutes of beating so dont really think it's a problem for me and it could be that I run a higher head speed than most. I will however when it does go put in the traditional hub/liner for the simplicity of being able to re line it cheaper than replacing the whole hub

Yes I think it's people running lower head speeds like below 1950 and too much pitch that have the slippage issues.60% of the time, it works every time!

About the clutch...I relined mine because I didn't like the OEM clearance. I never really gave the stock clutch a fair shake. It might work fine.

About the gearbox... There is no issue with the gearbox. The stock kit gearbox works flawlessly. If there is an issue, it is with modelers maintenance program. With that said, I will install the metal gearbox when it becomes available. My models are for my personal enjoyment and my personal belief is that aluminium is the correct material for this application. Am I fixing something that isn't broken? Most likely. Still, it's something I'll do.

Yes sorry the front tail gearbox case .
It’s been a big problem on the latest E version and I think there on like there 4th attempt to fix it .
A metal case would not only look nice but would stop the cases flexing .
