* 4600g "takeoff weight"? That's around 10lbs. No big deal.
* The fuel tank is still behind the CG (but.. not as far. So that's better! Right?)
* The fuel tank is only 630cc - that's the smallest tank on any 650 / 700 nitro on the market. I assume they had to do this to reduce weight. Because the tank is still behind the CG. Oh.
* Whats the deal with the cooling fins on the engine mount? Does that mean their flywheel fan is too small to cool the engine? My engines do not generate a lot of heat in that area. The heat is in the head and not the crankcase. Another gimmick.
* They highlight the fact that they added a stronger screw to hold the tailrotor blade grips... really?
* The gear ratio is 8.23:1 - why? None of the YS engines are rated above 16,000 RPM - so you better be an OS fanboy too.
* The head is yet another gimmick. They suckered you with DFC, now they are "solving" a problem that does not exist with the angled main grip arms.
* "Thicken CF tail brace" Really? Why not "No Tail Brace required because we figured out that a shaped tail boom does not need it"
* Yellow main blades? Still no effort to design an improved blade. I guess you still need to buy VTX to get that.
* A B6TX2 2-in-1 regulator. Still? How many of these do they have in the warehouse? They are junk.
* And finally - they used a pair of intermediate gears in the transmission? That is a lame attempt to get the CG far enough forward to avoid having to add 300g of lead in the nose. This is BY FAR the dumbest part of this "new" helicopter. With this "feature", options to adjust the gear ratio for different engines or lower headspeeds are gone.
I won't answer all these but the YS motors are good upto 17,000 rpm and headspeeds above 1900rpm on a 10lb heli swinging 700-720mm blades are NOT needed.

Fuel tank IS directly below the main shaft without splitting hairs and is why the need for the added gears to move the engine forward WITHOUT the need for a large main gear thus keeping the canopy slim AND balancing the heli better with the direct to swash servo layout.

Shaped tail booms are far more expensive.

10lb's IS very light.

The rest of the stuff isn't really needed but why bash it???

ALL NEW DESIGNS have to start somewhere. When they went to fbl I heard the same crap. When they went to shaped booms same thing then tourqe tube same thing then back to belt ect... on and on. I think it's great align stuck there neck out and went for it. And I'm not positive but if your are able to change the transmission gears to match your motors reccomended ratio that's awsome. We've always been stuck with whatever the heli was.... I don't care I will buy and fly new designs. It takes alot of money for a company to change so much in design in just the hopes it's better I dought it. They have pilots that's can fly those machines at a level 95% of regular pilots can't. So if they even feel a small fraction of better performance then yea there gonna pursue it. These things most of us pilots won't even notice. I got my kit and it's awsome. I don't mind being a test pilot whatever it takes to progress this hobby. I give it up for align. Keep on changing things and let's check it out. I have clown for many different brands in my carrer I always was against align as everyone had one. But c9me to find 9ut there's a reason for it. They kick but and take a beating and just plain fly. Well here it is final assembly of the tail section build complete. All that's left is wiring and programming which I will make another video. I've built roughly 20 align kits and this has been by far the easiest and most enjoyable and fastest. Finally got mine Thursday and like you I'm done I like the provided holes for routing the build was pretty straight forward low parts count very clean design. The only thing I have left is fly it but here in Cincinnati it's like 10 out right now so we will have to wait.

Hopefully these can show you what I did nothing impressive tried to keep it simple anyway if you look on the one photo where I ran the tail servo wire through the frame I just robbed the rubber gromet from the right side frame where the elevator servo could be mounted figured it wasn't be used so there it is

I am not interested in it anymore.
I'll keep flying my 600N LE EFL

Maybe in another decade Align will come up with something better
spending time, paying attention

It is such a shame about having to lube the gears every 5 flights and having grease flying everywhere! Dry lube maybe a better solution but those gears are still going to wear fast at 15000 rpm! 60% of the time, it works every time!
