I wonder if Align will do a pipe for the 105?
Its odd they are using a 90 pipe on 105. But I don't think the are going to rebrand pipes.

I'm very excited to get a chance of one of the first batch of kits. This will be my first 700 size heli! Been flying 600 class since I started due to size price ect... the 700xn has been fully redesigned. Not just one or 2 things with a different canopy. So I'm excited! Hopefully they take some of these new designs and apply them to the 600 class.

Wow!!!
700NX!!!
Three exclamation points !!!

I don't mean to dump on your fantasy, but why does anyone think this is better than the old 700N DFC?
Or even the older 700N SE or 700N 3G FBL?

* 4600g "takeoff weight"? That's around 10lbs. No big deal.
* The fuel tank is still behind the CG (but.. not as far. So that's better! Right?)
* The fuel tank is only 630cc - that's the smallest tank on any 650 / 700 nitro on the market. I assume they had to do this to reduce weight. Because the tank is still behind the CG. Oh.
* Whats the deal with the cooling fins on the engine mount? Does that mean their flywheel fan is too small to cool the engine? My engines do not generate a lot of heat in that area. The heat is in the head and not the crankcase. Another gimmick.
* They highlight the fact that they added a stronger screw to hold the tailrotor blade grips... really?
* The gear ratio is 8.23:1 - why? None of the YS engines are rated above 16,000 RPM - so you better be an OS fanboy too.
* The head is yet another gimmick. They suckered you with DFC, now they are "solving" a problem that does not exist with the angled main grip arms.
* "Thicken CF tail brace" Really? Why not "No Tail Brace required because we figured out that a shaped tail boom does not need it"
* Yellow main blades? Still no effort to design an improved blade. I guess you still need to buy VTX to get that.
* A B6TX2 2-in-1 regulator. Still? How many of these do they have in the warehouse? They are junk.
* And finally - they used a pair of intermediate gears in the transmission? That is a lame attempt to get the CG far enough forward to avoid having to add 300g of lead in the nose. This is BY FAR the dumbest part of this "new" helicopter. With this "feature", options to adjust the gear ratio for different engines or lower headspeeds are gone.

This looks like an attempt to sell "New and Improved" but it is mostly "More of the Same".

Woe son, slow down. You're not alone, allot of the pilots I spoke to about the new Align 700 said the same things. It's gimmicky and has no real improvements.
I am disappointed as well as you. We'll see how the market responds.
I don't see it remaining around long.

I'm not disappointed with Align or the "new" 700NX.
I am disgusted.

This thread is full of the breathless hype from the fanboys and marketing trolls declaring this POS the 2nd Coming of RC Helicopters.

The RC Heli market is in terrible shape right now.
Nitro or eHeli and the surround technologies (engines, motors, ESC, gyros -- etc)

The last thing we need is a declining manufacturer soaking up the limited dollars available on a badly implemented, disappointing rehash of an existing design.

Why not shout it to the rafters?
Don't waste your money, your time or your talent on the 700NX.

I for one will NOT be buying a 700XN. I have 3 trex 700 nitro pros that I feel like are very built proof with minor maintenance. They are paid for and parts are easy to get. The new 700XN doesn't get me excited enough to buy one. Ill be curious to see how it holds up!

Just tracked mine I will have it Monday! I'm excited for many reasons. First this is my first 700 size heli I've been flying 600 for years. Also im excited Align has changed the whole design not just a few things but basically a new 700. I like all the new changes and think they will benefit overall. Manufacturers have to keep innovating our hobby to make things better or we would all still be flying thunder tiger raptor 30 still. Can't wait to get mine!

I skimmed through some of the na saying and it's all right everyone is entitled to there opinion that's the beauty about where we live and for me it's the wow factor something new my dfc is rock solid and I love it but comparison side by side there is no comparison it is a total new design not even close and ticedoff the tank is directly under the main shaft dead center I can say it because I'm looking right at it holding it my hands to be exact again it's a wow factor don't have to like it don't have to hate it as far as weight as little weight that is added or taken off most of us would never even know or can we even feel it while we are flying and I am hearing rumors of a new 600.
