Wear and tear
I will be ordering DD belts from this time forward. The Bando from TT wears out too fast. Lifetime is like maybe 3 hours of run time before it starts to click or crackle. The black DD belt has been run for over 2 hours with no slippage or wear and tear. The teeth seem to handle the abuse better.

Almost everything is still available in China
I was trying to find parts for the conversion of my E550 3 blades to regular 2-bladed FBL head. There is nowhere to find a dealer for the raptor line parts so I tried my luck by contacting TT Factory in Zhejiang, China directly. And the result is positive. The sales personnel told me that only 5 items in raptor line is deficient. So... we should be good for now.

Update on using tail blades
I strongly suggest you use stock tail blades, do not use wide chord or extra larger blades. It forces the belt to hit the pulley harder and tears it up. This has happened to me three times, regardless of any belt tension.

The original frames with stock tail blades have not had any issues. I suspect using bigger/wider tail blades is the culprit.

This is now the 3rd frame I am going to have to toss the left side.

I can see the difference
Using stock tail blades and detuned pipe on OS50 engine is the way to go.

If you use MP2 or tuned pipe with larger than stock tail/wide chord tail blades, you are asking for trouble.

Frame/Belt can't handle the surge of power from a tuned engine all at once with a combination of 12 degrees of collective/9 degrees of cyclic.

Let ya guys know why your belts and pulley fails then chews up your frame.

New member and I am restoring a couple of Raptors
Hello fellow Raptor owners
It looks like this site has not seen much activity lately and I am looking for advice and wisdom in my new quest to bring back to life a couple of Raptor Helicopters
I am new to the forum and I am in the process of restoring both a Raptor 50 and a 60 series helicopter. I have read many of the posts here and wonder how everyone's respective helicopters have managed, and continue, to fly and the maintenance of them sine the last posts here in 2018.

Thunder tiger raptor has a very strong design .

In terms of dimensions, it is similar to Mikado or align helicopters.

In most cases, I did an upgrade using Mikado parts for tail, boom support, links, rotor head ...

I have a question for the group. Can you clean a fuel tank that had old fuel in it?. My header tank has a green hue inside due to fuel left in it that evaporated over time. I can replace it, but would rather use it if possible. Many more questions to come so thanks everybody in advance for your assistance

I had a Hayes tank that sat for close to 10 years that was 1/4 full. What was in the tank after 10 years was pretty thick sludge. I pulled the clunk line, dumped in some isopropyl alcohol to loosen the sludge, dumped that out and then cleaned the tank in hot, soapy water. Dried it thoroughly, and put in new lines. That was four years ago. The tank is still functioning fine.

The pic of the X-Cell flying, was taken a couple years ago. That's the Hayes header tank hanging off the side, that had the sludge in it.

Normally, I flush New glow in tanks with old glow...

But.. In your case, I would rather Pull out this tanks a flush apart very carefully, replacing clunk line, stopper and some other parts.

Don't use cotton rope...

Just alcohol and some other anti grease component.

Dry with a dryier and you are ready to install it.

Thank you for this information. The tank is in good condition and I can replace the clunk line. I have new main fuel tanks, but the header tank with the two fuel line outs I do not have replacements for. The heli has been torn down and is going through a complete restoration this winter. I am reading every forums discussions on working on the Raptor helicopters and looking for all the tips and trick to returning the helicopters to flite ready status.

Bringing back to life...
I have almost 4 raptors now. A used 30 v2 airframe, a brand new 30 v2, %75 of a 30 v1 and %80 or a 50 titan. More will be filling my space as I find decent deals, some people want outrageous prices, like $550!
The used 30 is near ready, just going over setup with a Radiomaster TX16s, os37, digital servos, jr G770.
Looking for parts here in canada to complete the Titan. Might take a while
