No, this is the NFL holding an overpaid, underbrained man/child to the terms of it's contract, period! Embarrass your employer and you are in violation, and it agreed to disciplinary action when it signed it's contract. The courts have no place in this . . . and these idiots need to engage what few brain cells they have and not constantly put themselves in situations like this!

So you know Elliot personally, in my book what you just did is against one of the 10 commandments.

You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor. ?????

No, just pointing out that which appears to be obvious to just about anyone but you. Intelligence has *NEVER* been much of an asset in football at any level, with the possible exception of the QB.

The main poiht, though, which appears to have gone over you at altitude is that a behaviour clause in a contract does not have the same criteria as a lawsuit . . .

And this lumbering dufus is *NOT* my neighbor . . .

You know, I think the NFL has made so many fumbles with so many players that Elliot is just another dropped ball.

The NFL is in a pickle with problem players from drugs to violence to protesting the national anthem. When you throw in a little "team cheating" into the mix, the NFL is in a no win situation.

I think the NFL should give up some of their ruling power when they know a player or a team might win in the courts. When the NFL makes a ruling and a judge slaps an injunction on them, they have already lost.

Well he played a great game last night!!!!! slam! Plus, I know there and
thousands of retired NFL football players that have went off to be solid citizens of the community. They have BA's and graduated with honors from collage. Some have even died for our country.
From both sides of the race track. I think you are a raciest.

I quit watching sports when MLB went on strike. I was so put off by it. Just quit watching sports all together.

I used to watch sports all the time, but the surrounding dramas turned me off years ago.

Call me what you like - it's your right to be wrong and brag about it. Oh, and check those degrees . . . typically in very low level, or 'fabricated' subjects (created/allowed to let idiots play in college . . .).

Very rare to see one is science or engineering. Oh, grew up as a university brat . . . the pressure my folks used to get to not fail some idiot athlete was huge . . . It's not opinion, it's documented fact . . . but then again, since when have libs cared about facts and evidence . . .

NFL players that went back to earn a college degree
1. Ben RoethlisbergerBen-Roethlisberger
After playing for Miami University (Ohio) from 2001 to 2003, Roethlisberger was the 11th overall pick in the 2004 NFL draft. Over the next five year he went on to become a two-time Super Bowl champion in 2006 and 2009. And after several years of taking college courses during the off-season, he earned a degree in education nine years after entering the NFL.

2. Brandon JacobsBrandon-Jacobs
Before becoming a two-time Super Bowl champion with the New York Giants, Jacobs was an All-American who attended three different schools during his time in college. And even though he was drafted in 2005, prior to graduating from school he was committed to going back to earn a degree. Over the course of four off-seasons Jacobs completed a bachelor’s degree in sociology and became the first member of his family to earn a college education.

3. Emmitt SmithEmmitt-Smith
You may remember this Hall of Fame running back from when he won three Super Bowls with the Dallas Cowboys. But what you may not know that after he left the University of Florida after his junior year in 1989 he returned six years later to complete a bachelor’s degree in public recreation, while still playing in the NFL!

4. Leon LettLeon-Lett
As an NFL linemen and three-time Super Bowl champion, you might think Lett has accomplished a lengthy list of career achievements. But as the only member of his family not to have a college degree, he returned to school and graduated with a degree in sociology and history in 2009 – eight years after retiring from football.

5. Troy PolamaluTroy-Polamalu
While Polamalu is well known for his flamboyant hair and the two Super Bowls he won with the Pittsburgh Steelers, many are unaware of that after leaving the University of Southern California in 2003 he vowed to return and complete his degree. In 2011, he fulfilled that promise and earned a bachelor’s degree in history.

Note also that most of those degrees are liberal arts or business . . . which typically a cabbage could earn. My point stands . . . not a one one your list in engineering or science . . . Oh, and with all due respect to armed forces, note that 'hero' does not imply or indicate (nor contraindicate) 'genius'.
