Short answer is no.
Long answer is maybe, if you are using the first generation DX7.
The first gen DX7 cannot take voltage of a fully charged 3s lipo, so it is recommended that you use a regulator or resistor in line to drop the voltage to a safe level. If you have the second generation DX7 you can use a 2s lipo, but not 3s.

I do remember something about the resistor mod., however I did run the Outrage 11.1V TX. pack in my first-gen. DX7 without the resistor mod. and never had any problems (see the voltage level on the screen display).
