I need feedback on renaming the first three (or more) member status titles removing the word Heliman. Making them more generic so as RR can expand into other facets of RC. Here are my first rename ideas...

Beginner = New Heliman
Novice = Heliman
Apprentice = Senior Heliman

Member Status FAQ...
https://rc.runryder.com/help-faq/Ge.../#Member_Status
Status is based on post count. Off Topic and Classified posts do not count.
  • New Heliman (less than 30 posts and registered less than 180 days)
  • Heliman (30 posts or registered 180 days or more)
  • Senior Heliman (100 posts)
  • Veteran (500 posts)
  • Key Veteran (1000 posts)
  • Elite Veteran (2000 posts)
  • rrProfessor (5000 posts)
  • rrMaster (10000 posts)

I didn't see anything wrong with the original ones.

Edited: How about Newb, and go up to "Old Buzzard." or "Distiguished Curmudgeon"

Saying you like the old ones does not help Mark with this problem...

I like what you have... but can maybe make it entertaining like maybe newB instead of beginner unless you think that will chase off newcomers. Could be sort of an initiation thing.

I stand corrected. Now I see that the site wants to expand beyond just helicopters. In that case the news ones are fine with me.

I always took the labeling system with a grain of salt as to how many post vs actual knowledge applied given the title behind it.

In any case, I believe whatever you chose should all have rr on the beginning as in the case of "rrNewbie" which denotes new to the site but not necessarily a noob when it comes to heli knowledge...if that makes sense.

I think this is a winner.
Newbie (less than 30 posts and registered less than 180 days)
Novice (30 posts or registered 180 days or more)
Apprentice (100 posts)
Veteran (500 posts)
Key Veteran (1000 posts)
Elite Veteran (2000 posts)
rrProfessor (5000 posts)
rrMaster (10000 posts)
I agree with Pistol_Pete too. It is just a number and doesn't reveal someone's actual heli knowledge, but I don't think it is supposed to though. Just shows RR experience.

Maybe only On-Topic posts should count towards these titles.

That would give incentive to provide more content.

Pretty sure it's always been tabulated that way.

Edit: It is currently done this way. For instance, you could take my total and make a Veteran. However, I'm not because I haven't had 500 OT posts.

Good to see that my great idea was so rapidly implemented via time travel backwards.

I plan several other ideas in the near past. It is impossible for me to make mistakes when I self correct with my time leap adjustments.

Food for thought. Why do we need titles at all?? Why base them on post count. Why not just a member of RR....period????

Because every now and then you get some hot shot newb coming on here and posting a bunch of bad information. Many people rely on the info read here to be accurate. If you see they have only been a member here for 200 posts and half of them are off topic and the other half dont really even make sense you its possible to screen out some of the BS. People that stick around long enough to gain name status generally are knowledgeable and genuinely care about the content.

Team Synergy, Team FBL Rotors-------if its not broke...it will be!
