they shut it down for several reasons, none of which had to do with it getting smart.

the AI's were learning to communicate in an incomprehensible way that was both repetitive, cumbersome and inefficient.

basically IMHO it was a waste of time and money as the developers put no "reward" mechanism for using clean English nor efficient sentence structures... therefore a failure in terms of AIs suited to human needs.

this one is hilarious (fist pumping is essential to walking AFAIC):

The learning to walk scenario has been around for a while. What they don't specify is how long it took to "learn".

But the communication thing ? in the context of bartering ?

Communicating between two AI units using sound will be much more efficient and faster if they create there own language. After all they will eliminate all the idiosyncrasies of human speech. Maybe communicate like dolphins if using sound.
Of Course, the main communications will be RF or some gigabyte speed between them.
.
Oh the simulation figures run like a girl.

I think about the hereafter. I go somewhere to get something, then wonder what I'm here after ?

so whats so different as compared to today?... fake profile pictures, fake persona, and lame in person... IMHO you made out ok considering you only spent what $50?

and considering the mental juggernauts that most "hot" babes are nowadays... that POS AI was probably more intellectually interesting...

@UtahBob

Should have instead purchased;

Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards

Terrible graphics but entertaining back in the late 80s. The floppy disk era...lol.

The "reloaded" version, which I never played, was a big improvement on graphics.

Yeah..I remember that one..
Kind of the progenitor of the "Sims"! Whenever I think of AI now the movie ExMachina comes to mind..Alica Vikander was perfect in that role..but her character turned out to be as coldhearted as any real woman can be!
