Good thing there's that red reset button lol. That's a lot of $$$$ saved there.

Rpat- Every time I get on I end up jerking around on it instead of actual practice.
Same here, but once in a while I am working to a certain goal and I will stick with it. Orientation exercises for example are boring, but really payoff.

Plus, if you're "uncomfortable" doing certain things on the Sim, imagine the lack of "comfort" in doing them in R/T...

Did you know RF keeps a running total of crash costs? Just go to the sim console ( hit ~ to turn on/off ) and type in "showmethemoney<enter>"
For the rest of the session it will show estimated repair cost after each crash and the total repairs for that model since created. I'm not sure what version of RF they started doing that in...it's been a while though.

My modified Logo690 that I've been flying for several years on RF is up to just under $106,000.00 in repairs!

My real 690sx is more along the $600 mark in repairs. Good thing!
With my second tail gear failure, my Logo700 has already surpassed the 690 repair total with a re-kit . I think I finally have that issue solved though.

I don't use the sim much during the summer, but work on learning new moves during the winter with it. I use it as a tool, not a game.

Hey chopper37, that was my first heli sim as well....although mine was just called the Dave Brown sim and didn't come in as fancy a box. Same controlled though. Still have it here somewhere, although you now need a usb to "gameport" adapter because the gameport was phased out YEARS ago on PCs!

Thanks, Kevin

It works on RF6.5.....

I wish it kept a running total for the model created.....and not just for the one session....

Just started a session....and when I did "~", "showmethemoney"....it replied "Ka-Ching!"....LOL

Will report back after a long session.....this is now almost as good as simulating itself.....LMAO

Somehow....I typed in several commands that RF6.5 claimed were not commands.....then typed "crash", and it came up with a grand total of $222,000+ for this heli model....

Trying to get it to re-show the money....not succesful yet....LOL

Somehow got it into a "mode" where.....when I hit the red "reset" button, it shows repair costs...and the total $ spent on the paticular model....

But, the costs are very cheap.

I performed a test crash....from an ~10' hover, I stuck the nose n the ground.....repair cost, only $35....LOL

Cool......

BTW, the heli is the "RAVE 90 ENV FBL" model...

It comes and goes for me. Right now I'm working on smoothing out transitions and a few other things so I'm really on it each day for 30minutes morning, 30 afternoon and at night I've been on it for no more than an hour.

Sim time
I started flying about 14 years ago and no sim at that time. It was a JR Venture 30 and training gear only. I got out of the hobby 10 years ago and now that I am getting back in I spend about a good 1 or so on most nights after everyone has went to bed. Mostly to get the skill back and feel out the controls again. I have Phoenix 5.5 and I use wind and random failures. I think the sim helps a lot on people coming back into the hobby!
