Just so you know this is not a rant but I thought some
background information would be helpful to those that
are restoring and working on vintage helicopters.
I'm changing the free shipping idea back to my original method.
I'm not able to compete with the shipping rates that people are
accustomed to on E Bay and Amazon. I don't get a special rate like they
do so it will be the cost of the canopy or canopies plus an actual shipping
quote from the USPS. If you need a canopy please contact me by email
for a cost quote. The prices of canopies are based on the cost of plastic
which has tripled in the last 6 years. Some canopy sets require multiple
mold changes and some are extremely difficult to make while others pull
easily. Some might ruin 6 to 8 pieces of material to get the machine set.
These are just some of the things that affect the cost of replacement
vintage canopies. Please keep this in mind when considering the cost.
They are not mass produced but are hand made on machinery that I with
with help from Captainkrik developed and built ourselves. We developed the method to make the
molds that sometimes take between 60 and 80 work hours to complete.
US Postal rates have almost tripled in 6 years as well, not to mention the
cost of boxes, packing materials, and transport to the Post Office. I'm not
doing this to get rich, this is a hobby for me and I doubt that I'll ever recover
the cost of the molds.
I do it to help myself and people like me that want to keep the old helicopters
alive so we can share what this was like in the early days of helis.
PM or email me for the revised price list.
