As for hobby shops, don't forget Heliproz! Not long after I started
in the hobby, H/P opened, and was my absolute go-to shop for many
years. There were several others I dealt w. on an occasional basis,
but nothing like them.

Yep, we lost 3 great ones in the last few years, H/P, Readyheli,Ron's
Heliproz south/Ricks). Haven't ordered much stuff lately, but just
looking, there seems to be very few choices in on-line stores for
general stuff. Mikado USA kind of took over where R/H left off as far
as great service and shipping, but of course mainly deal in one
brand.

And yes, there may be many who left lately, and they can just "drone"
on, I will keep turning rotors (single) into the forseeable future!

I AM curious to see how attendance will be next week though, at you-
know-where. There was a lot more 'breathing room' on the main
flightline last year, but don't want to see it get any thinner than
that though!! OR,,,on vendor row!

Heliproz was the first place I purchased raptor 60 crash kit and blades. Man, fanastic people in MT. I missed them!

Don't forget that Excel (Miniature Aircraft)is back. Ordering parts from Germany has turned out to be much less of a problem than I thought it would be. I've got lotsa Excels and can now keep them all flying. I get to use the German parts source more often than I like; but it's there when I need it.

Leisure Tech in Canada is still a source for Century parts.

The older I get, the fewer things seem worth waiting in line for.

All but the last brick and mortar hobby shop in tucson shut down a few months ago. Only Hobby Town left. They just have parts for tiny Blade copters, and a few airplane kits and parts. It's pretty sad. I actually have more motors, engines, servos recevers, radios,,,, in my hobby room than they have in stock. It is a national chain, so i doubt they will be able to adjust to the changing clientel. I will buy what i can from them, but most of what i bought recently came from ebay.

" Canada "

Unfortunately, the Canadian postal service and customs are pathetically slow....

It's faster to get supplies from Europe....

Hobby barn. End of a great era. I used to go in there most saturdays on the way home from the field, say hi to a few great folks, pick up parts, fuel maybe spot a cool kit to build... They had just about everything i could possibly want and were often asking if there was anything we wanted them to order for us.... Bill and Mary were hit VERY hard with parkinson's and stroke, they turned it over to new manager who did a pretty good job of getting it back on track, it was not like before, but reasonably good. For whatever reason they closed it.

Tragic, i am bumming pretty hard over it.
I had been going there since i was maybe 12 years old. Not a fancy place, never was, but God did they have all the best stuff. Loved that place.

I'm surprised the oriental companies haven't been making such upgrades for older helis.

Guess it's not worth their while...

There is a company in Taiwan making Raptor upgrade parts. I picked up a metal rotor head hub block for my Titan for $27 shipped. (PV0484)

They probably don't even need to buy a license from the OEM anymore.

Not that they bothered to do that anyway.....

Personally, I think TT is making a mistake discontinuing the Raptor line. They can just manufacture a few parts...once sold out continue to make a few more. Not needed to have a warehouse full of parts to keep us raptor helis guys happy.
