Does anyone know what the default expo settings are for on the various control behavior modes (B in the parameter menu) such as normal, sport, etc.?
I ask because I have a new heli and trying to get it set up properly. I have the Spektrum AR7200 with the BeastX built in. A friend test hopped it for me since I haven't flown in several years. Mine is in sport mode. He said it was really touchy on cyclic and rudder, so we added 20% expo on cyclic and 30% on rudder in the transmitter which calmed it down a lot. I just discovered tonight that you should not adjust expo unless you are in transmitter mode, which we weren't. So, I'm curious what the default expo values are for the various settings. I assume that when we added expo in the transmitter on sport mode it added to the expo in sport mode?
I'm guessing here, any insight anyone has will be appreciated.

What heli is this? Sport mode is VERY docile and should almost hover hands free! Are you sure it's setup correctly? Did you make sure you set exactly 6 degrees aileron in step J? Did you set step N correctly?

The only difference between the preset modes is you get slightly faster roll rates and less expo as you advance down the modes.

Nearly everyone uses TX mode as you can simply play around with your dual rates and expo in your TX.

60% of the time, it works every time!

If yours is old, first I would suggest upgrading the firmware as they made some nice improvements. Second, I would set up the heli in Transmitter mode and dial the feel in that you want with the transmitter (rates, expo, etc)

So, I'm curious what the default expo values are for the various settings.
This is unknown unless it has been divulged by the manufacturer.

A means of finding out is to go through the trouble of switching between transmitter mode and built in mode and trying to match the performance-feel. This will of course vary based on Tx as well as servos used.
I assume that when we added expo in the transmitter on sport mode it added to the expo in sport mode?
Yes, you are adding to the built in values.
I just discovered tonight that you should not adjust expo unless you are in transmitter mode
Previous answer is the "why". Too much of a good thing can turn bad.
