It has bit hard.... cost me a machine.

I too went years without.. then....

Digital controllers, non HV servos and LiFE packs WILL BITE.

yes.. they CAN last. but its a spin of the chamber... but for 20 bucks for a Castle 10amp reg.. why risk it.

Just food for thought...

I tried the LIFE packs went back to lipo because they were easier to use and read remaining mah.

all my models use a BEC/regulator because I can't trust internal bec even on a 500 size I had a failure.

I have no doubt that servos can fail, but I think I have heard of more "cheaper" BECs/regulators (incl Castle) failing than decent servos.

Many people run 6V servos on a 2s lipo, and that I would not do, but a fully charged 2s LiFe drops down from 6.6V to closer to 6.3V quite quickly and sits there for a while.
