The post was to make you think, as you probably know there is justifiable homicide and other cases.

Therein is the problem. What is acceptable, and what is not. I am just saying that justice is not fair and in fact corruptible depending on where you are.

You want to kill them all, and that is going to cost one hell of a lot, or we can keep them penned up for the balance of their natural lives. Keeping them alive makes them think every day, what did I do to deserve this?

I don't have the answer, I think it has to come case by case. Clearly some should pay with their lives. I believe the appeals process is necessary to sort out the difficult cases. I think that Texas and Virginia kill too many, and Maryland not enough.

The death penalty does nothing to deter crime. That is proven.

No one here promoted that in any way.

our laws are to laxed and criminals get the revolving door policy when they should be punished.

This guy was a witnessed convicted cop killer and no ifs ands or butts guilty as charged.

because not enough are convicted, and when they are they are on death row for 20 years.

If the process and punishment real and quick, and severe, it would change the numbers with time.

Right now they know they can kill, get sentenced 7 years, and be out in 3-4

The death penalty sure as hell prevented William Morva from ever committing another crime.

as you probably know there is justifiable homicide and other cases.
and that has nothing to do with THIS case... scum needs no reprieve from justice.

justice delayed is justice denied.

justice delayed equates to more harm to both the victims relatives as well as the personnel involved in securing the assailant in terms of time and money.

I said before, in this case, the defendant richly deserved his punishment.

that depends on your definition of crime... but right now, the way the legal system works, well... murderers, rapists, assault, armed robbery, drugs... and even high profile white collar crime... Im willing to bet 98% of those dont get the death penalty to begin with... most get out of jail in a few years anyway... so your claim is both pointless and self evident.

honestly, if you made the death penalty, easy to get, impartial, and quickly executed... it would deter quite a bit. but only for the poor man.... the rich man simply buys his way out of jail, women play the gender card, and minorities play the race card... An now it seems, the "Mental" card is being developed (also known as a registered democrat card ) So the legal system enables them and the victims lose.
Then why pettifog the issue with "justifiable homicide"?
cause he is like an uncle of mine after a few beers... who all of a sudden becomes an expert on everything and follows up every comment with:
"Well regardless bro..."

Case by case... I lean towards life sentences, but this case is compelling. There are no absolutes.

Get over it.

This is a damn good example of why I am not Republican enough for you tight britches. I don't care.

I am somewhat against the death penalty for several reasons. This guy is really mentally disturbed. If it were not for his killing two guards that were taking him to the hospital for medical help, I would say spare him.
How bout you move him in your house with your family and take care of him??

A persons action is a result of their personality and thinking...

Rehabilitation? lol

I would be happy to. Just give me the same money they are spending to keep him in a cage. I already said that he richly deserved the needle. He killed and killed again.

Yet, he was severely mentally ill.

A few death penalty facts...

"I would be happy to. Just give me the same money they are spending to keep him in a cage."

That won't ever happen.....so that is an absurd claim made by many.

"A few death penalty facts... "

Not facts at all....just more opinions from a website on the internet.....

If someone were to say they're against the DP because of DNA proof otherwise....or prosecutorial misconduct, etc.....without proof positive of the circumstances, that might be more valid point of view.

Life without parole instead of death is what I prefer with death allowed for exceptional cases. I know exceptional when I see it. Far cheaper and allows reversal for mistakes, corruption and malfeasance. Join the rest of first world countries. Leave China, Saudi Arabia, Russia and North Korea behind.
