Fatal Heroin and Fentanyl Overdoses on the Rise in Cleveland Area
OK.. so what is up with the heroin dealers trying to snuff their customers? That cannot be good for business long term.

Where is the Fentanyl getting into the drug flow? Do you think that they are doing this right at the start in Afghanistan? Taliban/ISIS?

What could the thinking be cutting Heroin with an even stronger drug?

Are they doing the US a favor offing some of our lesser citizens?

Why were the vast majority of the victims white?

Starts with an sore knee, lower back trouble. The doctor prescribes an opitate pain pill and it goes downhill from there. It is much wiser to use a heating pad like gramps did.

Splatter, most addicts are trying to best their last high. That means using more and more. The dealers know this. In order for them to make more money they add stronger stuff to make better kick. Unfortunately user doesn't know till he's dead how strong it is.

While I have not seen/read/heard anything to support it, attacking the US via tainted street drugs does seem like another viable path for groups like ISIS to target the US . . .Friends don't let friends become electrotarded . . . .

Prescriptions for opiate pain killers have more than trippled since the 90's. The US is by far the top consumer of opiates.
The number of prescriptions for opioids (like hydrocodone and oxycodone products) have escalated from around 76 million in 1991 to nearly 207 million in 2013, with the United States their biggest consumer globally, accounting for almost 100 percent of the world total for hydrocodone (e.g., Vicodin) and 81 percent for oxycodone (e.g., Percocet).[5]

This is not a democrat vs. republican issue. It makes me sick to see those people making fun out of this.

These are people, sons, daughters, fathers, mothers and fallen individuals. I am sure they have a million reasons why, but they don't deserve to die from spiked heroin.

You could be next... just touching a crystal of Fentanyl could land you in the morgue.

It's a lifestyle they choose. I have no control over it so I'm not losing any sleep over it.

so true,,

my brother was putting Meth in his arm, doing LSD, Window Pane, Weed, Sniffing Glue,, and shooting up Whiskery from the bottle to get drunk quicker, you see dad wont notice much Whiskey missing if you shoot it up,,,,

but it wasn't the drugs that killed him, it was the life style that killed him,,, one night 4 of his friends showed up needing a ride, my mom and dad were gone with friends, he was 17, without knowing how to drive he took my mom's car and gave them a ride, he hit a tree, he dies the other 4 are still alive,, one of his friends that was in the car that night walked the streets for 20 years blaming himself, no one has heard from him in years,,, my brother's girlfriend would go to hes grave at night for years and years and cry, he died April 1973, she is still in love with him, I can still see it in her face today,,, many of his friends would also go to his grave and party, they loved him that much ,,

BTW, the ME told my dad that my brother was straight the night he died,,

the last year of his life he was very-very mean to me, he was a junkey and the drugs were starting to get to him, so i didn't take his death hard back then, but as I got older I could see just how terrible it truly was, but today, 44 years later and I miss him more than ever !!,

on his grave stone is a quote from the bible, something about he is in a better place than where he was heading,, for years I didn't know why my mother had that put on, then after my mother died my brother told me why, it's because some 5 weeks before he died he was arrested for selling LSD to an Under Cover Cop, "3 times he sold LSD to that cop", and the police also had an informant that was going to testify that my brother sold him drugs 32 times,, so, back in 1973 he would have gone to prison for 30 years or longer, but he hit that tree,

it still gets to me today !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

some time I will tell you about the jeep he stold..

Once you developed addiction is extremely hard to quit. Man, I have seen people going crazy while trying to quit smoking, leave alone pain killers. Opana is a drug that is pretty difficult to manage. Many, many of these individuals are people like you and me that underwent treatment (lawfully and many times justified by a physician.
Bad stuff happen to good people too!
PS. Not all though. I just have no idea how Gear's brother had access to heavy drugs at 17. I was born the year his brother died, so I have no idea how crazy the old days really were. Anyways, who am I to criticize.

Xterra,, I don't feel you were criticizing me !! but I have talked about my brother before on RR..

Vermont was full of drugs back then, and still is,,,,

my brother that died was 3 years older than me, my other two brothers are 4 and 7 years older than me, even my Mother once said to me when I was in my 40s that my brother that died was a borderline junkey..
as a teenager of 15 or 16 in Vt I had a few people stop me on the sidewalk, asking me if I wanted to buy pot or speed, or asking where they can buy it, I just strongly shook my head NO.. in 11th grade I had a classmate once ask me if I wanted to buy Horse Tranquilizers or Hash, that kid grew up to do some computer service work for GE in Vermont,, go figure.. in 12th grade I member kids smoking pot on the school buses, they got kicked off the next day, kids would take big hits of pot and then go into school and blow it out in the classrooms, every one could smell it, even the teachers..

one time as I waited for the bus I saw a well known Local Cop on an Honda Dirt Bike stopping and grabbed a kid that had a Pot Pipe as he waited for the bus to show up,, see, the cop road by and saw the kid smocking the pipe, and then road back, right up beside the kid and and grabbed the kid, I heard the dirt bike, and because I had a dirt bike I looked over to see what bike it was, it was that cop, he kept asking the kid were the dope was, well the cop had the dope by his arm. I also remember that same kid showing up once at my mothers house in a UPS truck one time in the late 90s.

BTW, that cop got into big trouble once for asking women for sex to get out of speeding tickets, more than a few women complained to the City about that cop,, and that cop's own son has been in prison for years and years now..

as I found out later in life one of my brothers school friends was a dealer for years in Vt, some 8 years ago he died, after all those years he became deep into heroin.. all my family friends, and all the parents knew of him, after all he went to school with 2 of my brothers and all my brothers other friends, from years earlier I remember my brothers an I were Tent camping at the State Camping Grounds, when he showed up one time, Edit> he made a joke about being worried that the IRS would ask him how he come to have $40,000 in his bank account knowing that he did not have a job, at that time and age I was too young to know why he was laughing about it

sorry, as I re read I had to edit

Yea right. It's a choice. Straighten up or die. My brother-in-law was the poster child for this his primary goal in life was to get high at any price and by any means. He lied and stole from everyone he could including and most often family to the point where even his own kids wouldn't speak to him . He left a trail of problems whomever he encountered. One morning after none heard fro the guy in weeks his kid found him dead in a pool of bloody vomit in a $hithole apartment that contained a mattress nothing more. That was 10 years ago. No one misses him a bit. He was offered help numerous time by numerous people and choose his lifestyle over it.
Please don't give this he was a victim crap that's nothing but bull$hit. The only victims here were his family along with his kids and their families and he's missed by none of them.

Sorry but that's how it is. Oh yea I had to pay to bury his worthless ass so he even screwed me in his death.

Yeah, I don't even know the half of it, but my niece caused my nardowell brother to kill himself with drugs after she refused to let him see her get married.

I am sorry to read other's stories with the same inevitable ending. At least these people were not killed immediately by fentanyl. I think someone is out to murder the junkies. Is the government behind this.

when I was 26 I worked with a Teen that sniffed Gas, we worked at a gas station, he would half fill a tin can with gas and started sniffing, he would lay out on the grass on the other side of the pumps cupping his hands to seal the can to his nose, he was really into it, he would sit for 10, 15 or 20 minuets (maybe longer) sniffing it, his eyes would turn deep red, after the 3rd day I worked with him "I" fired him, I didn't have the authority to fire him but I did, then I called my boss and told him about it all, my boss backed me

crazy

I think that a lot of junkies started out this way. Very dangerous, they are looking for a way to relieve their pain.

If it has not happened in your family yet, it will.

Really? Just how do you figure? I know very few families with a " resident junkie" people know would not tolerate it. Who do you associate with that this is such a issue?

When you have a large family and throw all the cousins and second cousins in. It will happen. Don't be all, I am better than you. It could happen to you with a chronic pain injury.

Most families do not talk about it to outsiders. You might even have an addict at work. A lot of people are functioning addicts.

This has to be the most ridiculous topic ever here. May I suggest since you apparently have a issue with this in your family you stop posting about it here and get to work fixing the problem.
" better than you" nope I'm just capable of making smart choices.
As I posted I've be on these pain killers and CHOOSE not to use them. End of story.
