piston carbon removed
I`m newer in gas engine. just curious how many flights you need to clean the piston carbon deposit.

I have never done this. What oil do you use?Setup is everything, All my heli's can fly far better than I can pilot them

Red Line seems to produce the least carbon for me... and I run a high compression modified engine. as long as your mixing the oil to fuel in the proper ratio (mine is 35:1 due to the hot summers)... you should never have to clean any carbon off the piston.

Raja could comment on this clearly as he has hundreds of hours on gasoline engines
showing a preference will only get you into trouble, 90% of everything is crap...

I would not run castor oil. In my 2 stroke early days with fox airplane engines I ran castor and it developed deposits all over the engine.
Synthetic oil is preferable. I use Penzoil full synthetic Marine 2 stroke oil at 30 to 1.
As far as how to remove the carbon? I have never had to.
