"Additionally Mark is very responsive to comments. "

Mark designed his own software.....HF did not.

HF personnel have absolutely no clue as to how to modify their cookie cutter software.

They can only manipulate it in simple ways.

And most of their manipulations are done by their thug moderators such as "BlowPilot", et al.

I made a HF account years ago....
Never used it.

Runryder has always felt like home.

If Mark has to move on,
I totally get it.

But I do wish there was something we could do. It will be hard for me to move on.

Ive tried using helifreak over the years and as of recently tried usng it a little more, but the cookie cutter bland template of a site stinks no doubt about it. And a lot of the members over there, jeez, I dont know how some of their heads even fit through a doorway.

I remember Mark talking about starting this site while we were hanging out at the Apollo field as RC Online was going downhill. I helped him set up his first official runryder table. Always was cool to watch his success soar and make this site the number one source for rc helis for many years. There was a time where I had the highest post count on the site, lol.

Sorry to hear of your troubles Mark, I know you will get though it and find your happiness again whatever that may be now. Take care.

Too bad there isn't a donation thing to keep it open or to pass it on the another valued member. I would donate to keep it open. But I honestly don't know what it takes to make this online forum run. In example like the funds or time or whatever it may be. But if it were funds I would donate for sureHeliDirect Field Rep, Synergy N7 w/ OS 105, Torq Servos, Cyclone/ Rail blades

fact is if you send money to RR or Mark, Mark's wife will get it,,, now, if Mark started a new site and we all bought a share in it then she could not take it

Ok wait a minute here...
if youre planning on closing up the RR website... why are you bothering to listen to the freakazoids about what they think is a better layout. Why bother putting more work into a site that you closing in a few weeks?
I think Mark has a backup plan!

Or maybe he's dealing with some stuff and not everything make sense at the moment. I feel like this speculation is bordering on crude...

Some of you know the man,
I don't,
So maybe it's not anything like that.

Just offering a consideration.

New site
I think Mark should just open up a new site called RyderRun and have a simple 2 or 3 dollar monthly fee/donation and I'm sure that would be plenty to keep the site going.maybe 4 to 500 of us loyal users, that's at least a grand every month plus advertising money. Idk just an idea cause I'm truly depressed about this closing.

"not going anywhere"

Where would software go?

On another server?

It's gonna require a whole lot of work to even shut it down properly.....

BTW.

I like a more compact view and I use Chrome, so I have the plugin called "Stylebot" that lets me modify my view/style of websites.

By adding the following two CSS entries in the global list for runryder.com, my runryder page looks like:

.HP20, .HP21 {
min-height: 12px;
}

.mb2 {
width: 100px;
display: inline-block;
font-size: 10px;
}

Big +1! And also really like the fresh new look/layout all around, thanks Mark!!

And yes, contrary to comments on the 'other' site, there never was an issue
w. the layout/finding your way around here, MUCH easier in fact. Guess just what one becomes used to......for several years now, RR has just been

I think this is a great idea Mark, I will admit it took me a while to discover the sub sections but once I did I actually found it easier to find information here rather then HF.
Example: in the for sale forums, lets say when looking for a fbl unit. On HF I would have to scroll through pages upon pages of servos, SENSORS, Receivers, and other electronics but here I can click on the type of electronics Im looking for plus the actual brand. I Love It!
