ah fly ins on 35meg

I remember one fly in and big show where they would demo all the new models, great show Sandown here in the UK, was a pig to fly as the wind came rolling off the grandstand ( was a horse racing stadium)
but what was worse was the exhibition was full of retailers selling models, so people would buy these little indoor models like century hummingbird or piccolo and then go into car park and start them up and take out someone on the flight line who was on same frequency.
I would have felt nervous flying a large turbine model in this kind of environment to be taken out by a piccolo or hummingbird
