Why are you so reluctant to do what people that know what they are talking about are suggesting??

EEngineer suggested the use of a resistor way back and you ignored the suggestion.

Now AirWolf is suggesting the same thing and you're ignoring his suggestions as well .....
Been there, done that and old enough to know better.....

If your expected run time in service is 30 to 40 minutes on a 3AH pack then the results will be meaningful (5 amps from a 3AH pack - - the discharge limit of your charger).

AirWolfRC is suggesting a resistor for discharge.

EE wanted me to use one in charging to increase the EMF.

And I am not ignoring anyone.

I am trying to get a consistent opinion on what data would be meaningful.

You commented that your charger was operating erratically at ~ 5A....

I suggested that you separate your coil current from your charging current....by using a resister in series with the coil...so your charger operates properly....without having that load imbalance.

Also, you could vary the coil current(varying the magnetic field)...independent of your charge rate.

At that point, you were "into" charging....

Now, you've changed to discharging....

And I explained that the power supply is at fault.

The Instability at 5 amps is independent of the coil.

Are we all having fun repeating ourselves?

I haven't given up on this as of yet.

Went a few rounds with a 4mm kidney stone.

Gonna have to start over with 2 new test subjects. Despite having explained to everyone that lipos are ruined by being drained all the way, and despite having a battery alarm hooked up, they decided to keep running the power wheels till it died.

So my A and B batteries are toast.

Ok-ish...

They found cancer while they were poking around in my bladder. They say they got it all and not to worry, but I also have to go back in 4 months to have a camera shoved up my **** again. So....

And of course all the wonderful opiates and antibiotics they put me on screwed my already troublesome gut. And despite it having been over a month since, I'm still dealing with it.

I'm still working on things,
I'm sorry to those of you waiting for more info, still in the works.

Got my fingers crossed I'm gonna feel up to going to IRCHA.

It's a shame to miss It when I'm just a bit away.
