I decided that I can't order a stand from SAB, I'll have to make my own out of corian. Luckily I am a CNC operator at my local shop so things worked out pretty good. What do u guys think? I believe I'll be making more with different sizes and shapes. This is just the first quicky project but many more to come!

I was thinking that it would be nice to have a tool shelf to lay things down while you are working. Nice job.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the kind words.
And heli splatter, I have no room for tools in my dark dungeon basement lol. My GF won't allow me to turn out one extra room into my hobby room since it's her office/slash knitting room! I'm thinking helis are way more important then yarn,needles, and knitting crap!!! Haha

That looks awesome....wow

Plus, you can easily look under it....to see what's about to fall off...

How high does it put your goblin?

This stand puts my machine at around 48 inches to the bottom however I got home from work last night and already started building another one for my G500 and I'm thinking I'll do that one around 40 or 42 and who knows maybe I'll do a 380 stand just so I'm prepared for whenever I pull the trigger to buy one. However for now, I'm more interested in the comet. I wonder if I made a custom comet stand for Bert and the guys if they would send me a demo comet? Haha wishful thinking I guess.

"Haha wishful thinking I guess."

You might be pleasantly surprised. Never hurts to ask....

48 inches...I think I like that.

In my case, my lower back gets really sore from bending over my workbench(coffee table...lol).

I think your stand would help to avoid this.

Not only that, but I don't have room for a "carousel" type workbench so you can view the bird 360 deg. around. Can stand back and view blade tracking when adjusting things, etc. with yours.

Just thinking out loud...

Is there a way to add an optional/removable round tray below the heli? In case one "fumbles" a bolt/nut while working on the bird.

Awesome product you've designed.

Ya my back always hurts as well.i could certainly customize it in any way. I was thinking a screw tray underneath but also a swivel top so I could easily spin the bird around to work on the other side. Maybe I'll do a demo sleek one and an actual maintenance stand. Adjustable height would be a fantastic feature but would be very hard with this design.
Any other suggestions guys?
My new one should be done by tomorrow, I'll add some pics soon for the 500 size helis.

@Helicrazy4...Made out of Corian.

OP
Nice job. Love the fabrication threads.
Any clue on the weight?

Here's an optional "mobility" thought;
Cut a mortise about 3/4" wide by 1-1/2" long into each fork tongue part of base to accomodate a small 1-1/4" airplane wheel so only lower half of wheels extends below base. Optionally cut a mortise or route a half round groove on opposite sides into back of upright as a means to easily grab and lift to wheel it around. Piano wire for axle press fit into small groves and a dab of hot glue to keep in place.

Given it may take away from the looks but you wont have to remove heli to move, specially for those with back issues.

My new 500 stand

Well this is my second stand that I just finished, it's a little different of a design but about the same size. I'd say it's roughly around 20 lbs. it's super sturdy.
I'm making my third one today after my gf drags me to her church. This ones going to be for my rave 700 nitro that's pretty heavy. More pics to come.
Not sure about the wheels but I'm considering a swivel top and a screw/tool tray under the actual stand.
