FWIW it doesn't have to be a 9251, it just needs to be a narrow pulse tail servo (760us) that can handle 333Hz. Most modern high end narrow pulse tail servos can handle 560Hz.

This is Futaba's newest equivalent: Futaba BLS251SB Brushless SBus-2

Best cheapest option would be: MKS HBL669 High Voltage Brushless Tail Servo

The MKS is a high voltage tail servo but will still work well on 6v.
60% of the time, it works every time!

There is also a hidden menu that lets you change the pulse that the gyro puts out so you can run any servo. If you do a search, you'll find it. I ran another servo with mine for a while, it's been a long time so I forget what, probably a JR8900g or 9253.Nick Crego

My dearly loved 9C
Hi Fella's

It's been sometime/long since I visited RR, but what has promted a visit is - I've found my 9C in a box in the attic, battery run down, now charging so hopefully all will be well with it.

I was wondering, I do that often now, about it's Latency, I know it's slowwww cos I've trundled through this Thread to verify the fact, but can someone elaborate for me what has the addition of a DM8 module had on it's latency.

With the plethora of electronic gizmo's comming out of China now, would there be such a gizmo to reduce it's latency in anyway.

I'm not a fancy flyer in any way but would love to cuddle my 9C again when flying my NightHawk250 quad or would or is it too slow...joe

The latency was from the very slow processor and programming, iirc. I remember reading that it was pretty average if you weren't using the ccpm programming. If you are using it with a modern FBL heli that programming wouldn't come into play, same with your quad.

Either way, even the slow CCPM wasn't a major hinderance. It still flew fine for most everything and only the most extreme guys really had an issue. Not sure what the DM8 adds, but I'd bet you won't have any issues.

There is a menu where you can tune the pulse width for any servo with the 601. I did it with mine until I found a brand new 9251. I tweaked it for use with an ino lab tail servo.
