Wiring query
Folks,

Just set up Trex 550, with Microbeast, using std Align servo digital servo set up.
-
Spent hours setting microbeast up very carefully, using 4.8V NiCad, with nil issues at all.
-
Now I have installed the Hobbywing Platinum 100A V3, using its internal BEC, I now have:-
-
a) T/R servo slight chattering back/forth continuously
b) very slight humming from all cyclics
c) worst of all, one of my cyclic servos will very occasionally freeze in one position.(position NOT consistent)
-
If I hold the twisted bundled of wires between my fingers, all quietens down.
-
Using Frsky 2.4G and PPM
-
Nil ferrite ring supplied with ESC.
-
Please comment if you have any suggestions, or if I have been stupid in neatly aligning all servo leads to FBL untwisted.
-
Many Thanks, Steve

Hey, Steve

Very tidy wiring.

a) and b) are normal with digital servos....

If your FBL controller has the "control loop" engaged, any slight "nudge" to the heli will be interpreted by the FBL as a
flight "perturbation" and the FBL will respond by moving the servos slightly.

Forgot how the BeastX works...with a VBar, one just enters "model setup"....BeastX should have something similar.

Always disable the FBL "control loop" when adjusting things and these "anomalies" should go away.

Thanks for that.
-
Forgot to mention, I was only running it up with no blades, just to check vibration, and if the swash drifted at all.
-
the cyclic intermittent "freeze" was with TH on, and just testing the limits etc.
-
I'll see if I can replicate this freezing with 4.8v pack later, although, as mentioned, I exercised all for hours during all the setting up with no problem....issues seem to have only started since using internal BEC.

Apologies!!!!

Chattering tail servo was due Frsky D8R telemetry receiver aerial in very close proximity to TR servo , effect is reduced just by my hand being close.
Cyclic servo hang-up due scratchy pot. Just managed to reproduce it, once only, tiny pressure on arm and jumps to correct position.

Thanks for your interest.

Tiny pressure on arm centering the servo is due to motor dead spot. Get new servo. Not brushless servos are they ?

Juan, he said he's using an ESC with an internal SBEC.

He's using the 4.8V NiCad for bench setup.

Yes but he's not stated what he's using for power using the ESC/SBEC.....just want to make sure it's not a power issue.....

Well, in that case....

A 4.8V NiCad sure a heck won't be enough to power his ESC....

Make sure you have the LED lights flashing the correct color codes according to your servo's specifications. Here's a link to the list
