no one said they are closing... they just arent going to offer gasser kits anymore... and are selling that part off according to their website. Everything else they are going to keep offering. Its the generator aspect that makes no sense to me.

The other kits will likely fall off given time, who knows really... not much interest in conversions anymore, at least not enough to justify running a CNC shop with (which is why he is going for the generator idea)

I was under the impression that they were going to continue selling
kits/parts

They just weren't going to develop any new heli related stuff

And they are trying to sell the heli side

although I don't see anything on there website now about any of it

yeah that part of the website has changed, just checked.... maybe he changed his mind?

the "other" thread had the OP saying they got an email:
I just received an email from Helibug saying they are getting out of the gas helicopter conversion kit side of the business and anyone interested in purchasing can contact them.
Though now it seems hes after someone for "defamation" according to the website (look way way at the bottom).

Its anybody's guess on whats really going on over there.

whatever he decides to go with... wish him the best of luck.... especially in this tough market.

Yes, I did receive that email as I guess I am on the company's mailing list since I've purchased from them several times. If I remember right, last time I visited their site, my email was exactly what is stated at the top of their home page about where the company is going in regards to the conversion/heli side of the business.

with your connections you could likely get more insight than most of us here...

All I know is that when you put a big ol warning on your website about going after an individual or individuals for defamation... you better have your $hit together, alleging defamation on your website can backfire... IMHO it doesnt look good either way. I would have never authorized any such statement on an online storefront.

If he decided to stay with making gasser conversions... all power to him, I would hate to see a small shop like that give up on gassers, but everyone has to make a profit some how in that line of business.

There are far too few shops offering quality gassers... but I guess thats just the way it is for us.

Ive flown Chris Bergen's and helibug and although i dont like either coimpany, the helibug is better because you can put a trex head and tail on it. My first gasser was a bergen 10 years ago.

Watch at YouTube
