Well I redid the tape as many of you suggested and it worked like a champ. No more uncommanded inputs. Put two layers of the grey 3M tape and strapped it down with my Align tape and no issues any more. Thanks for all the inputs. Was a real help.
AgentOrange, can you post pictures? I would be interested in seeing the outcome.

I am having a few issues and never even thought about the tape. I might as well do exactly what you have done.

Thanks, Dennis

I think that the idea is to NOT tie the FBL unit securely to the frame. I do not ever use any velcro/other type of ties to hold the unit to the frame. You are trying to isolate from vibration.

The grey 3M double sided tape is so secure that I never have any problems trusting it. If you are worried, change once a season. The tape stays until you cut it off and scrape off the remains.

Always check your sticky tape as part of your pre-flight routine.

Can you make a video of cutting the 3m tape, removing the red separation and installing it on the bird, with slow motion and freeze frame?

Much appreciated! {sarcasm off}

Seriously?

Would you like it to include about 20 minutes of rambling, inaudible remarks, and several off-topic bits and pieces thrown in?

What's the beef?

Dave showed a pic of the tape that showed it's part # for specificity.

Are you serious? Remove the old tape on both side completely and clean with alcohol. Let dry, install new tape leaving the protective tape on the outer side.

Lightly place the part on after removing the protective tape, press securely on the Heli, and you're good to go.

All the 3m tape is, well it's been around for ages in the automotive industry, it holds most outer moldings on vehicles. The tape is well capable of withstanding all weather conditions. It's very strong and will peel paint off the canopy if your not careful.

Everybody sells it now.
