600 nitro
What if you wanted a 600 nitro but didn't want a Trex or N5C?!

We need more 600 nitros!

Also what's with no one doing a 550 nitro?!

Sorry im just ranting... again!

You could look at a TSA 600. Maybe you could get a Fury 55 still.

Fury 55
I still fly my Fury55 from MA. I have bought some parts from MA's website in Germany in the last couple of months. I understand that new kits are available. There's also a US distributor (Cajun Aircraft), but the website is so-so.

Yep, I've still got #12, and a spare airframe. That's a good machine.

Definitely give Scott at Cajun a call if you're interested. Their site may not give you everything you need, but he can if you contact him.

Other than that, I'm drawing a blank on other glow-powered 50's.

I guess it's nitro in general that's disappearing. The Goblin nitro is just too expensive and I hate the look of them!60% of the time, it works every time!

I agree with you on that. I'm not a fan of the goblin either. I see nib TT x50's on ebay frequently I think from a dealer in Taiwan who also has many parts listed as well. Is the Audacity Pantera still available?..

Oh, I forgot about Hirobo. You can still buy those from Mr. Green, I believe.

And Jack is right, the Pantera is still produced by Mr. Beech.

Goblin
I just maidened this past weekend a Goblin BT 700 (electric). Its my first big electric. I loved it! Coming from 18 years of Nitro (on and off), I simply loved the build and the flying of this machine. The only downside for me is the short flight time, but at 1800rpm for the maiden flight, I got 6 minutes getting the batteries to 40%. The Black Nitro must be a nice build as well, given the quality I saw on the electric.

Can't help you on the look though. If you don't like it, you don't like it!

Hirobo SDX
Hirobo still sells the SDX SWM SL-II. I have the old Dominik Haegele Version with flybar and it still flies great. I am getting the new SL-II flybarless head this weekend.

Gaui makes an NX4 that can be converted to 50 size, I have 2 of them and I love them, you need NX4 air frame, conversion kit sold by Gaui, x5 tail boom and TT, x5 boom struts, and x5 main blade grips, and it will be a 50 size 550work hard, play even harder!!!!

I had an nx4 but it was too heavy for 425mm blades so going to 550's would make sense however the tank is half the size of a standard 50 size heli so you would get 3.5 minutes max surely?60% of the time, it works every time!

I get a lot more than that out of mine, seems to get better mileage stretched then with the 37, maybe due to the power to weight ratio?work hard, play even harder!!!!

Definitely the Hirobo SDX

http://hirobofanusa.com/products/hi...i-fbl-nitro-kit

Bullet proof helicopter that will last for years.

For me I now fly a Hirobo Turbulence D3v2 and a Freya OP II. Both have OS105's and I can't get enough of them! The best thing I ever did was return to nitro. The Freya is flybar and just exceptional to fly.
Quest NEO Caliber ZG, Zenoah G260PUH, CGY750, NHP 750, NHP 115.
JR Propo Ergo 30, OS 32SX-H, Edge 550, Edge 90.

Hirobo SDX
I can't agree more! I also have two identical EX2 SWMs with flybar and OS 91. I'm getting my Freya SWM OP SSL-II this weekend. I'm using an OS 1.05 to power it with Futaba CGY-750.

My SDX exploded mid air and was a right off, the parts cost to repair was astronomical!

THE best parts quality EVER though and I loved the 8.7 gear ratio so you could swing 620's without bogging! Just too many fragile parts! Great if your not pushing your flying but for me the idea of a 50 nitro is they are a good practice thrasher machine, cheaper than a 90 to repair and longer flight time than electric.

One guy, one company, that has managed to survive and adapt through all of this over the years is John Beech and the Audacity Pantera. Yes, it's a Korean plastic fantastic but they can be setup to really groove and track or they can be 3D'd. He's become a bit pricey as the competition has fallen by the wayside but if you have to have a new 600 class nitro heli, it's pretty good. Personally there is such a ridiculous supply of used nitro helis on this site I can't believe that this question came up. So many good designs that fly fantastic available for a fraction of what they cost, what they're value really is, but people pooh pooh them because they suffer from the effects of marketing.

At the end of the day,Align has blown them all out of the water worldwide, prices are still reasonable,I remember main shaft for the SDX was 42.00 pound in those days, ridiculous.
