Setting rudder gyro gain in Microbeast PLUS
Hi all,

Sorry to sound ignorant but can somebody please explain in as simple as possible how to enter the correct setup menu for setting the rudder gyro gain? I'm not sure I even understand how to determine the current setting but as far as I can comprehend, I believe I am in setting N because the orange led lights up at N at power up then status eventually stays blue If I understand correctly, that means heading hold Mode? Also, from what I understand, I should really be setting the gyro at G? Finally, how to switch from heading hold to normal mode to trim rudder and back to heading hold for flight. I am reading the manual but have trouble with comprehension.

I have the Microbeast PLUS on a T-Rex 500L, a 550L and a 700X. I am using a Futaba T14SG and R7008SB. Any comments appreciated. Thanks!

Well, in your 14sgh what is your gear channel settings? Because I've always set my gyro gain between f-g using the gear channel settings. Go on youtube, look up Ron Lund microbeast setup with Futaba and he does a good job explaining it.

I hope this helps some, you basically decrease your number on your gear channel until the light is between f and g on the unit. Let me know if this has helped, good luck.

Hi Demetrius,

I did like you suggested and watched Ron Lund's video.

Watch at YouTube

It couldn't have been more simple. I will test fly next week once I get back from my work stint to Korea. A couple of questions:

1) Why did he change the channel 5 from GYRO to GEAR?

2) I got the Microbeast gyro settings to 'G' (orange LED on 'G' for the initial set up as recommended. When I switch the SF to ON, the status LED changes to purple (normal) and OFF status turns to blue (heading hold). Do I have to re designate channel 5 back to GYRO or can I just leave it in GEAR?

Thanks much!
