Scale Rotor Blades (Spin Blades)
Okay so here goes.....
Has anybody here in the USA purchased scale rotor blades from Spin Blades in Germany? Well I'm having an extremely difficult time dealing with them. I originally placed my order back in December for a set of 710 scale rotor blades for my 700 size scale Bell 206 Jet Ranger. On there web site when you create an account it has you fill out your billing and shipping addresses. However the way they format the addresses is a bit different than here in the US. When I tried to check out using PayPal the transaction failed due to their address format not matching my PayPal shipping address. I have managed to email them about this and they said send the payment to an company address. I sent payment and it took a few days for the transaction to go through. However PayPal has confirmed that the transaction is completed. It's now been a few days and I have not received any notice from Spin Blades regarding this? I've even sent two more emails and still no response? Are they a difficult company to deal with when you are trying to purchase items overseas?

I have dealt with them, and actually have an order pending at this time, if the blades are not in stock (or as in my case a specialty item)it can take 1-2 weeks for him to make them. When in stock, I have received them in as little as 4 daysHome of the "Sea Cobra".....

I bought a set of 600 asymmetrical matt black a while back for my Huey without a glitch. But then I found you can get them from Empire Hobby with their funky dealer system.

Hey Tim,
My second order from them resulted in a PayPal dispute and a full refund. Forget them.

Just email Kai and he'll send you an invoice to pay. Very responsive and great blades.

I had the same issue with PP trying to order directly from Spin. I didn't ever figure it out. I did successfully order from Helitec (Kai) and have received them. No problems at all. Follow Margaritaman's advice, went very smoothly on my transaction.

Well success, I was able to send them a payment through PayPal using a email address that they provided. I will admit that it was a pain in the ass transaction to say the least. But the end result is I finally got the Spin Blades I wanted. One thing that helped is Spin Blades had a Facebook page. So I was able to post my issues on their page and I got immediate responses from them. I hope this helps anyone else who might experience the problems I did.

I have ordered directly from Spin with no issues other than the blades being the lowest quality blades (main and tail) that I have ever owned.Quest NEO Caliber ZG, Zenoah G260PUH, CGY750, Rotortech 810, NHP 115.

Really? Well based on my experience the quality of the blades seems to be pretty good. And unfortunately for us scale helicopter guys there isn't very many options that I am aware of.

I do understand the lack of choice for scale.

My Spin 800's had slightly different thickness blade roots making fitment very difficult. They also had very rough and uneven cut leading and trailing edges. My tail blades cracked just outboard of the bolts. This was on a gasser running 1400rpm on main rotor.

I manually broke them open to see what the insides looked like and wasn't impressed. I then bought a set of Rotortech 810's and never looked back. Chalk and cheese unfortunately.

The Rotortech blades you speak of, where do you get them at? Are they available here in the United States? Also are they asymmetrical?

There are semi-symmetrical blades from Rotor Tech but my own experience has lead me to use symmetrical blades only. They can be found at Experience RC, MD Helicopters USA, and Leisure Tech in BC, Canada. I have 710's on two 700 size helicopters and will be converting one of them to an 800 and have 810's ready for install. These blades are balanced and ready for flight. Take care.

Spin Blades...
I have Spin Blades on several machines and have never had an issue with them..
As far as ordering, I have not had a problem at any time..
I like the wider cords that are available, and the asymetrical is all that I fly on my scalers...
Glad you got the blades you wanted Tim

Yeah Stan I agree with you 100 percent. For scale flying asymmetrical rotor blades are the way to go.
