In the four years I haven't flown I seem to have forgotten more than I knew when I started.
Can anyone tell me what is the significance of the three pairs of short beeps when I start up my jive? Could it have anything to do with mode 9?
I cant remember if there is any way of checking what modes are selected on the jive or if the only way to be sure is to set mode 1 and start again?

Unless someone can lend you a Prog Unit or Prog Disk, you'll need to do a mode 1 reset and then reprogram the heli mode if you're unsure. The tones you are hearing are most likely the lipo cell count(ing).

Many thanks. The 3 pairs of beeps only started after I selected mode 9, I have no idea if I did this on my previous Jive. it is attached to 6 cell however.
Does the prog unit work with the earlier (2012 ish) Jives?
